I see where you're coming from too. I need to do more research on other diets. Because id rather feed anything but kibble.

There's a ton of freeze dried raw options available, what do you feel is missing from all of them?

if you want to feed raw it has certian percentages of each type of meat to be able to replace kibble.

I haven't done a whole lot of research on it though because im not in the current situation to buy it

i think we'd all agree, if raw wasn't so expensive (or complicated) we would all feed it.

exactly the problem for me! i give lucky dehydrated raw chews once or twice a week
he gets raw egg as well and occasionally raw chicken leg. i give as much variety
as i can with a dog that's on a kibble diet.

well yes, dehydrated food lacks moisture.. thats the point. I'd probably soak it before feeding :).

Im still a highschool student, And a unemployed one at that. My parents wouldn't be too happy with me preparing raw meat so frequently in their kitchen + Its expensive. If somebody sold freeze dried for a decent price I'd be very happy! Not just like treats, but the full meal. Add some bone and egg to that and it would be perfect!

Deacon sometimes gets rice and raw egg with his food. I try and get him raw meat sometimes too because he loves it and it cleans his teeth. I almost always soak his dry food in water too because he sucks at regularly drinking water.. with how active he is he really needs the water in his food 🙄😂

As much as raw has its benifits, it also has things that aren't so good.. but that also applies with every single thing you let your dog consume. In my opinion raw has more pros for my dog than cons.

we give raw chicken feet, liver, and leg quarters on occasion. the chicken feet most often. they also get sardines on occasion with their food and freeze dried patties. they have plenty of marrow bones but they just have been more interested in the stuffed kongs lately. veggies are a constant with them as we snac on them a lot and they don’t seem too picky. id feed raw in a heart beat if i had someone physically teaching me versus just reading and research. we have the freezer space.

my dogs are on a vet-planned diet due to pips epilepsy.. atlas doesn't need to be on such a diet, but we found switching to give him an upset stomach. and, even on a kibble diet, we like to add in egg and sardines/mackerel once a week to keep that coat and body nice and healthy.
we aren't trying to have our dogs gain any weight, so i guess this isn't all too helpful for you. pip was overweight for a while due to his medication and environment but since atlas came around, he's 3.9 pounds now (5 before!) and very toned.
