Can't go wrong with a good raw bone my Border Collie really doesn't like most chews but give him a raw bone and it lasts hours.

One of the best companies and they stock most pet stores ( kennel Gate near me and Pets at Home about half and hours bus ride away).

Also for registered names, what about "Take to the Skai" (from Owl City)? I'm having a brain fart right now, so that's the only thing I can think of. lol I've been thinking about changing my dog's registered name (doesn't reaaaally have one). He was named after the dog in the Art of Racing in the Rain, so I'd like it to be something to do with that.

Take to the Skai is just awesome, I love it XD

Have you tried antlers, or maybe cow hooves?

i would consider antlers or cow hooves but they are some of the strongest treats out there and my boy is a small ratter despite his jaw. im also unsure how hed take to antler as its taste surely doesnt reflect meat?
i know small dogs who get broken teeth from antlers and cow hooves so i just want to ease him into the big boy chews if he really needs it.

and though my boys rarely eat raw (my family arent into them gnawing on flesh though i dont mind) ill check it out next time im at pets at home as i only live a minute car ride away.

when i was young he was given those rawhide shoes but i heard that they were bad and told my family to stop using them. now whenever i have a bit of extra change i enjoy seeing what new treat i can get for him but he seems to just swallow everything or chew it for a minute. ive found nothing by pedigree will suit my eldest boy but my fullbreed chi will gnaw on one for about 5 or 10 minutes ( the dentix for larger dogs ). that still really isnt ideal as they are spoilt little devils and when it is too cold or wet outside theyll forget their housetrained. this means we put them in their crates when we arent their to monitor them especially during the colder months. the fullbreed chihuahua is okay with a squeeky toy to be left alone but my eldest doesnt really care for them as he finds them easy and will tear their squeekers out. i really do just need a nice chew.

any more recommendations for a suitable chew for a ratter? i think despite them being small brands dont really market towards them and make chews for small weaker dogs and large stronger dogs.

I thought that about antlers too in regards to taste but the marrow in them seems to be very appealing. They sell smaller and split antlers which might be a better way to start. I think I heard somewhere moose antlers are softer than deer antlers but am not sure.

Have you considered braided bully sticks or different shapes like pretzels or curls? Himalayan chews might be worth trying as well. Pig ears? Tracheas? The woman who runs the rescue where I adopted Chloe was a big fan of Get Naked chews.

The thing is more so about my Mom. Over the years she has shared her dislike for anything bloody or of such nature like pig ears, bones though I've never heard her dislike of pizzles, I can only guess she dislikes them. I'll check out my local store for the moose antlers though.

^ Ah, okay, that makes it tough. I also though of dried tendons last night, they might be worth trying as well.

I don’t really want to get into the full details right now, but I know some of you have been following my Chewie update for years. Long before I got even Kestrel.

Today i had to make the choice to end his suffering and put him down. Last night he had a seizure and I rushed him to the vet, he had another overnight, and then around two today he started having grand mal seizures that were extremely hard on him and very difficult to pull him out of. We don’t have a solid answer on why it was happening, but based on the tests we’ve gotten back so far it seemed like the vet was leaning towards the brain cancer theory. We should get the final two test results tomorrow, but they likely won’t spread any more light onto what was wrong.

I can’t believe my boy is gone just like that. Even though he was a reactive brat of a dog, I loved him so much. He is the dog that I got as my original sporting dog and taught me so much patience. He has helped me through so much in the time I’ve had him, and it broke my heart to make the choice today.

These are a few of my favorite photos of him. Being a absolute dork, screaming at the world for no reason and annoying his sisters with his barking.
