He’s trimmed up quite a bit if you ask me 😍

Definitely trimmed up but still has a while to go yet. Without me being physically there, I have no 100% correct answer. But I'd say before was a 9-ish while now is a 7-8.

the beach i take him swimming is a walk of a half hour there and a half hour back on top of swimming then he wants to play tug of war when he gets home. so he’s slowly getting there. i think once radar is here he’ll be more active and running around out fenced in yard so that’ll help too (:

That's good! It can take a while sometimes

Update: We think he can see partially out of one eye, but seems to have trouble with tripping over stuff in front of him. He can hear, and knows how to sit.

Such a sweet boy <3

belgians are extremely fun to work with, i've had a blast teaching this kid. we'll probably have our TKN & CGC by the end of the summer & then hopefully enter some rally trials! agility will have to wait until he's a bit older, but i'm working on him w/ silvia trkman's basics.

this is the first time i've truly trailed with a dog so for those that have sport dogs--advice for trails?

my reptiles (aka my personal pets)
1.1 Uromastyx geyri, 3.1 Uromastyx ornata, 1.0 Uromastyx acanthinurus nigriventris, 2.0 piebald ball pythons, 1.0 puma ball python

i study lizards & bugs and like animals

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

@blueh: Wow he's gorgeous! Congrats! When did you get him?

I have a question for everyone!

Are you more of a One Dog person or a Multi-Dog person? Why? How many dogs do you own currently? What is the maximum that you could handle at one time?

Personally, I'm more of a one dog person because I love the bond that you can create when it's just you and your canine partner.

However, I also am interested in sports and am an aspiring dog trainer. It's difficult to find an "everything" type of dog, so I am okay with having 2 at a time.
I will technically be having 2 at once here in a few weeks but in a few months I will only be living with 1 of them.

The most I think I will ever have at once is 2 dogs. But I miiigghht be pressed to have 3 under the right circumstances. But they could not all be large dogs. One or two of them would need to be smaller breeds.

We have three temporarily at my house, and honestly, I could probably handle up to five, depending on breed and temperament.

And what I mean be temporarily is we found one dog on the road, but we are unsure if he's missing or not, so we're taking him in and putting up flyers.

I'm more of a Multi-Dog person myself. Currently I own 3 dogs, but only live with 2.
I'd love to say I could handle 3 dogs but since I lean towards larger dogs, the most I could handle long-term is probably 2. If I were to have 3, it'd have to be 2 large dogs and one medium.

The reason I prefer 2 is although having one dog is great for bonding deeply with them, I feel as if having another dog around would be good for them since they can understand eachother. I especially hate leaving a dog alone in the house — I know they're more than capable of handling it and I'm just being a bit weird about it but I just feel like they'd be a lot happier being around another dog they like. They'd also tire eachother out, like my dogs do, so you don't have to constantly entertain them, and they can help eachother out if the other is feeling anxious about something.

To summarise: my excuse is I'm emotional and I'd cry if they get sad xD

thank u!! i got him end of may : ) he picks up things fast but we had some typical belgian stuff that we had to work through first (aka hyperfocusing on Every Possible Thing)

as for the one dog vs multidog:
i have two dogs currently, one high energy and one medium-high energy (huskyX). i have a two dog limit MAX. thats the limit i set for myself. i don't feel as if i could handle or be happy with more than two dogs. i enjoy having both my dogs, but i definitely think im a more one dog person. i travel w/ my dogs a LOT (my husky has been to 11+ states in the last two years w/ a plan to go to 3 new ones before the new year is up). it's easier to handle one dog vs two, easier to travel, easier to book airbnbs. i feel bad when one gets more attention than the other (especially now bc one is a puppy) so it's harder to balance ur relationship w/ both of them.

(also i live in an apartment by myself with a two dog limit LMAO)

but there r a lot of things i like about two dogs! i like the constant companionship and i love how different they are. they learn differently & push me to be a better trainer. i love it when theyre both so excited to greet me when i come home. i love getting up early and watching them sprint circles around me while the sun rises. i love when hiking that i have one in front and one by my side.

theyre also different & they have different purposes. i got my belgian as a sport dog. he's going to trial w/ me and be my partner for those. but i got my husky--my first dog--as a companion. so even though they're both pets, i work with them differently if that makes sense?

i don't rlly know if ill ever have two dogs again or if ill wait for one but its been an adventure and i love both of my dogs so much

it's kinda funny bc when i was a teenager my life goal was to have as many dogs as possible. "i can handle five dogs" i thought. but now that im an adult doing adult-things its so different. i wouldn't want 5 dogs even if i could handle them. i wouldnt want that many even if i could afford that. ya grow and figure out your preferences tbh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
