Yeah, he was a stray, not an owner surrender. That shelter is a bit weird about labeling, it's like they label all dogs mixes except the ones who look like obvious mixes.

ALso there's a litter of puppies and omg omg omg I can't. They're so cute. I've been watching them since they were a few days old. I really want to adopt one because the shelter can't keep them.

This one is named Nibbler.

Shelters have to do that.
Every dog that comes in is a mix unless they have papers from a previous owner because false advertising of whatever breed they could be.

My fiance's mom got a purebred mini schnauzer from the pound but he's written off as a mix because they didn't have any papers.
They did the breed thing through the vet and yeah. Purebred mini schnauzer. He's just a little short for some reason. His name is Lucky c:

My fiance's sister has a mini Schnauzer from a breeder, her name is Pepper, and Pepper is a couple inches taller than Lucky.

Lucky has very fabulous eyelashes and I love him so much? He has to snuggle all the time and I love him.
Perfect little lap dog

Also nibbler is a very fitting name for that puppy

My shelter is horrible at labeling dogs,
its not even funny anymore. A dog was so obviously a bulldog and there were just like 'hmm....PITBULL' smh. There was also what really looked like a husky mix to me, really long muzzle, curled tail, blue eyes, very fluffy and I go and look at the dog's tag that's on the cage and it says pit bull....

At my shelter unless the dog is surrendered with kennel club papers it has to have mix within the breed name.

At my shelter they don't even say mix, a lot of the bull breed mixes just say "Pit Bull" Unless it's very very obviously not a staffy/ambully, then they'll say pit bull mix.

It's mostly harmful to the mislabeled dogs. I'm a volunteer so I help dogs get adopted and people come in and are like 'no, no pitbulls' and then I'm just like '...that's all we have ??'.
And I can't just be like 'yeah, they have this dog labeled as a pit bull but its really a husky'.

Also;

Sorry Xeno, break days don't exist for doggy diets.

This is one of the only 3 dogs labelled "pit bull". They try really hard not to put pit bull or pit bull mix on dogs, but when they do it's always on a dog who looks very obviously not pit bull. So even though they're trying, it's not a huge help.

I want a better quality camera so bad. This one all I can do is brighten the picture as much as I can. But, hey, at least I got Pete in a picture.

Jasper's class tonight was crazy. The class is for dogs like Jasper who are reactive to other dogs. The class was going like normal, Jasper was actually acting pretty clam and listening to me so it was going well. Then all of a sudden a vet's dog from the clinic next door somehow escaped and ran into the class room and with my luck, right up to Jasper. It didn't help because we were backed into the corner of the room so there was no escape. Luckily Jasper had his muzzle on, he was growling, lunging and tried to bite the dog, me and my dad who was also next to me. I was so shaken up during the whole thing, the only reaction I had was to try to separate them best I could. I held onto the leash tight as I could and tried to block Jasper into the corner to keep him from scratching the other dog and my dad. Even writing this I'm still pretty shaken up. The trainers have been using that class for years and this is the first time this has ever happened. He did calm down pretty quickly though after the vet ran in and got his dog. The class ended early after that. The other 3 dogs in class were stressed out, of course the whole time Jasper was whining his head off which set off the other dogs who were barking and whining. I can't imagine what was going through Jasper's mind. Here he is in a large room with 3 other dogs that he can't see (there are tall barriers up between all of us and we were spread out into our own corners of the room) but can smell and hear them and a 4th dog out of no where runs into our corner and right up to him. I still just can't believe this happened :c
