We got our kitten, Penny 2 months ago, and besides from the pouncing and tail biting Vashti doesn't mind her at all. Spade gets a kick out of watching Penny hiss and spit lmao, all Spade wants to do is butt sniff, but Penny isn't going for that. First thing: BOTH Vashti and Spade thought Penny's food was some kind of candy ???? Gulping it down before she even know the food was there lol. I sprayed some bitter apple spray in the cat's food once(didnt let cat eat it ofc) and the dogs stay away now haha.

Now the second problem....Vashti has taken a liking to..eating Penny's poop, so gross I know. Have you guys ever dealt with this before? Vashti and Penny are level, and there isn't really anywhere I can put the litterbox where Vashti can't get to it. Spade is Vashti's shadow, so I'm worried she may start eating it too...I don't know what to doooo.

Any suggestions ??? I may just have to catch Vashti red handed a few times and smack her little butt until she gets the message :c

Sorry for all the kitty-talk, I know this is dog chat ^^

My dog will get into the litter box every once in a while and ends up getting sick from doing so. I'd try to clean the box at least once a day (I know some people don't, but it'll cut back on how much poop is there) or whenever she just poops. Or you can keep the box in a high traffic area (so by the living room if someone is there most of the time). Typically if Boomer tries to go towards their box, all I have to do is tell him to get away from the box; he won't go after it then. I hope this helps, I'd hate for your dogs to get sick and throw up (it's honestly the worst smelling vomit you could ever smell).

My dad mowed the lawn before he left to go to Florida with my mom today and I was walking Justin at the same time.
Back in the the house, after they left, Justin wouldn't stop sneezing. I figured it was a grass allergy and called the vet to confirm. She says all of his symptoms add up. He isn't sneezing as much now but seems really uncomfortable and I was wondering if anyone has some diy dog allergy tips?
I have quit. Goodbye.

Does anyone know how well you should be able too feel the ribs on a double coated dog? Like, do you have to actually feel each individual rib when you're runninng your hands along the sides?

The easiest thing to do would be to block off the litter box so that the cat can get to that but the dog cannot. Us a baby gate, a cat door, put an exercise pen that the cat can get to it but dog can't jump over, put the litter box on a counter where the dog isn't inclined to jump up but the can cat (you can up shelving to aid the cat) etc. Also using a top entry box has been helpful for people with this problem as well. Some litter is very dangerous if ingested so it isn't something I'd take lightly.

Lacey has gone to stay with my friend for a week while we're away. She has three dogs herself and Lacey gets on with them all, thankfully. She also sends me photos and videos a few times a day which I really appreciate.
Lacey also got her summer cut last week, I've attached a photograph below incase any of you would like to see!

^ Aw, Lacey looks so cute in her new haircut!

I fed JJ and Pete raw for the first time today. They eat it very differently than kibble, it's kinda funny. I also bought a huge pack of chicken paws for a dollar. JJ is the only one interested in them though, Petes very picky about what he likes.

JJ went over to play with Chloe yesterday. Chloe's owner gave her Chloe's entire bowl of food overfilled with kibble. Chloe's like 80 lbs. JJ being JJ ate ALL OF IT. She has no limits, if there's food she'll eat it.

Been a while since I've been on here... but I had a question. I've got a Great Pyrenees pup. He's just over a year old, and the poor baby is on vet ordered cage rest, has been for 5 months. He got hit by a car and broke a back leg. Then just as we were getting ready to take the pen out, he fell and broke it again. And now he's probably going to lose that leg. He's been on cage rest since that first time. And I know he gets bored. So I've been giving g him toys to play with (when someone is with him of course). But everything I give him is in shreds 5 minuets after he gets it! I got a rope tgat stated it was for heavy chewers. I even got one of those Tire Biter toys(got one for my rottie mix a while back and he couldn't tear it up). He made quick work of both of them. I bought him a Kong toy, too. And he's simply not interested. I don't mind him tearing up a toy, I mean it's his! I just don't want him eating anything he shouldn't. So, any ideas on a toy that is giant, bored puppy proof?

And for those wondering, Jasper gets let out of the cage about 6-8 times a day to potty. Sadly, due to vet's orders, he can't be left out and allowed to play. Though when he is outside, we walk the yard and let him get some exercise. And he gets showered with love and treats. Poor buddy is gonna be spoiled rotten when he's finally able to run free.

My brother had the bright idea to take Skai out front when her brother, Bear, was here with his owners. A little backstory, Bear's mother, Benelly, is dominant and I have heard that Bear and Benelly get into fights all the time. Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that Bear is dominant as well. So is Skai. Last thing I need is a dog fight. Both of my brothers were hanging onto the leash getting drug around the yard by an 11 month old puppy. I had to go out there and I stormed her back into the house and into my room. I know I am going to get yelled at for it but I had told and explained to everyone it is a bad idea. Of course no one listens to me about anything.

Maybe an braided bully stick, dried beef tendon, antler or Himalayan chew? I've seen a ball that used to be advertised as being indestructible but then someone gave one to an elephant..., also I've seen balls made out of wood for tough chewers but don't know if they'd be safe/work.

What about a puzzle toy that involves batting it around to get the treat instead of chewing on it? I'd also play some training games with him, maybe teach him a trick like waving or nodding on cue to stimulate his mind.
