This isn't the first time she's eaten a pizza while not under my supervision, but I hope it'll be the last. At least I know she'll be fine.

Edit: Good update! JJ's heat just started! That mean no spay for at least 4 months!!

I also found a wonderful breeder! It won't be very soon, but I'm definitely going to consider buying from her in a year or two.

Beautiful dogs. She was suggested by a knowledgeable woman I know and man do I have some crazy puppy envy.

JJ isn't a young dog nor old dog. So I wouldn't be too worried about spaying her now. I know it obviously won't happen because of her heat, but there is nothing to worry about. I personally like spaying before a year old because they respond and heal better.

Early spay/neuter interrupts growth plates, heightens the chance of some cancers, and can have other detrimental effects :) I'd personally leave off until two, and then spay/neuter if I can't trust myself/my family to leave my dog with another intact dog, but there's no reason you can't have intact dogs as long as you're responsible.

That being said, it's maninkari's choice and I'm sure they're educated on the matter.

Yeah, I read up a lot and decided to wait until two and then get her spayed. I appreciate your take though ^-^

So...

Today began interesting. This American Pitbull terrier about 1 year old appeared out of nowhere. My Dad called her to our driveway.

To sum it down, We gave her the old dog food hat we had for a year after our dog died (Because we never bothered to rid of it) and some water. She was such a sweetie with crystal clear blue eyes!

I'm glad to say though her owners finally went searching for her with some friends so she's back in her home now!

I'd say that Lucky behaves very well on a walk. He can leave children and most other dogs alone. Even if dogs are barking at him through a fence he's perfectly fine. The only time he pulls at other dogs is when the other dog is walking past him on a leash and gets very excited + starts barking. This makes Lucky pull and sometimes bark. Not sure how to fix it...he's fine with dogs if they aren't excited...

You'd have to counter condition to the distraction of barking dogs. Difficult to do unless you have access to another person with a reactive dog.

Have you taught "let's go"? To use as an interrupter? Also you could teach him a "quiet" cue, but again will need to proof against distractions which can be difficult if you can't set up situations to practice with. For pulling I'd recommend a front clip harness if the pulling makes it difficult to control him. When in doubt if you get into a situation that you know is going to put him over threshold, try going in another direction, or getting him to do a sit/down with his attention on you.

Well, I solved Skai's food aggression. Not exactly how I wanted to but whatever. I won't go into detail but all I'll say is she bit me and things went from there. No, she is not hurt. No, I am not hurt.

Anyhow, she is almost a year old! I cannot believe it.

Does anyone know if dehydrated raw food can go stale? Yesterday Chloe would eat it, today she would not. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I swear it used to have a smell and now it does not. I was worried when she wouldn't eat this morning, she seemed hungry, and would take treats but had no interest in the food. I defrosted some of her frozen raw and she ate that okay. It's the same brand and protein source of food she normally eats.

So..I'm having a really nasty problem with Vashti.....
We got our kitten, Penny 2 months ago, and besides from the pouncing and tail biting Vashti doesn't mind her at all. Spade gets a kick out of watching Penny hiss and spit lmao, all Spade wants to do is butt sniff, but Penny isn't going for that. First thing: BOTH Vashti and Spade thought Penny's food was some kind of candy ???? Gulping it down before she even know the food was there lol. I sprayed some bitter apple spray in the cat's food once(didnt let cat eat it ofc) and the dogs stay away now haha.

Now the second problem....Vashti has taken a liking to..eating Penny's poop, so gross I know. Have you guys ever dealt with this before? Vashti and Penny are level, and there isn't really anywhere I can put the litterbox where Vashti can't get to it. Spade is Vashti's shadow, so I'm worried she may start eating it too...I don't know what to doooo.

Any suggestions ??? I may just have to catch Vashti red handed a few times and smack her little butt until she gets the message :c

Sorry for all the kitty-talk, I know this is dog chat ^^
