I have indeed contacted the owner.
We've talked every day since she left because she worries so much about her animals.

Good news,
She kept food down this morning, though it was only a little bit.
Kinda bad news?
These puppies are all full of worms right now, and she's not gotten them a good dewormer, and she's very cautious about giving them any kind of real strong dewormer aws they're under 8 weeks old.
I told her she should probably get on that as soon as she can. Or she might start losing puppies.

Considering the risk to their lives I would be tempted to call AC in that situation and report her.

No, I'm not much of a bike rider. I think if I was though I'd have to get one of those bike attachment things. I wouldn't want to risk an accident to my dog or me by holding the leash.

that's what i need. if i could get some links that'd help!

Bike Tow Leash http://www.biketowleash.com/

Dog Biking Gear http://www.thedogoutdoors.com/dog-bicycle-accessories.html

Personally, the first one seems like the safest option to me, but I'd do further research. Whatever you choose I highly recommend using a harness to attach your dog to your bike. One sudden stop by either of you at speed (probably a lot slower then you may think) can do serious damage to your dog's neck, spine, etc. especially a small dog like Oppie.

And now after doing some reseach I wish I had the ability/place to bike with me dog. Chloe isn't a runner but the Buddyridder seat looks fun.

You're very quick to tell me to report her to animal control.
I'm not reporting this woman to AC because she genuinely cares about these animals.
She takes very good care of her animals, and it shows with her older pets.

This situation didn't start until the day before yesterday or it would have been handled prior to when it started.

She's seen puppies given a strong dewormer before 8 weeks of age die from it.
She doesn't want that to happen to these puppies.
Which is why she's cautious about a strong dewormer.

She's given them a general dewormer.
She was going to give it to them again when she got back.

When they hit that 8 week mark, she's going to give them a stronger dewormer.

I did not say you should report her to AC, I said I would be tempted. All I know about the situation is what you said, that a 5-6 week old puppy is losing weight and not keeping food down. And you said that the owner didn't want to want to give them a "good" dewormed but didn't specify what, if any, treatment they are getting. You mentioned you didn't have the money to take the puppy to the vet, something the owner should have discussed with you and made arrangements for before leaving. I'm glad that the puppies are being taken care of and hope they do well.

I had my girl only on leash for a while before I purchased a bike attachment. Best thing I ever did, helps keep her at a slower pace with me and prevents her form going to far into the street away from me. Try the WalkyDogPlus! Attaches to under the seat.

Valkyrie likes to hold the leash tho, while we go around.

give him lots of loving! loud noises could really frighten, or even scar, a puppy if they aren't introduced to them gradually first.

maybe play with him for a while, take him on a walk (depending on how old he is) to let him calm down, and feed him some treats to let him know that all is good, all is well, and that he's a super puppy for dealing with those scary noises!

sometimes just spending time with your puppy can calm 'em down.

For fun.

Have you had dogs before? What breeds?
BBMs, GSDs, Aussies and Aussie mixes, and APBTs.

Are there any breeds that have already caught your eye? If so, why?
Doberman have caught my eye recently. My mom likes them a lot, and I think they're great dogs, although I need to do some research. I like that they don't seem to be overly social, with people or with dogs, but bond closely with their owners, and I like their size and look. APBTs also, because I have experience and knowledge on them, and regularly talk with breeders, but I'm not really looking for a Pit Bull.

How much time a day do you have to devote to training your dog?
All the time after I get home from school. I love training dogs and I'll devote any time I'm with them to working with them.

What kind of grooming needs are you prepared to handle?
Prefer not a lot of grooming.

What kind of energy level are you looking for?
More energy than JJ and Pete. Enough energy to go for plenty of runs, hikes, swims, and play lots of ball and frisbee.

What do you plan on doing with your dog?
We'll do a bit of travelling, but nothing crazy or extremely stressful, just roadtrips. Plenty of obedience, and they'll likely come with me into public a lot, as I bring the dogs everywhere.

What size dog are you wanting?
Medium- Large. 55-85 lbs.

What age dog are you looking for?
Any age. Preferably not under 6 months and not over 6 years.

What kind of livestyle do you live? (Active, couch potato etc)
Active, but I do enjoy lounging around.
