There's this 5 mintues rule, but does it count if you take your puppy in the forest to explore? I don't want to overstimulate my puppy.

After the last inoculation and the wait time was up we started taking ours out but we carried them up and down to the shop with us ( twice a day about a 10 minute walk) so they got use to people and traffic before the jabs were done.

I wouldn't let them walk even in the woods as they can still pick stuff up. If your worried about socialising just carry them to the shops or something just don't put them down till after all the inoculations are done ( and the wait time after is up ) its made it easier for ours to get use to people and traffic and leash work so much easier.

Walks were only short about 10 to 15 minutes again up and down to the shops but its made longer with puppies in to every smell and hedgerow

Letting them down before that at 8 weeks isn't a problem here, the diseases are so rare in my country. As far as I know we don't have wait times etc.

Uhg...Just got Chloe's treats in the mail. They contain pea protein (which she can't have) even though on the website pea protein is absent from the ingredient list. Had to contact the company and am waiting to hear back. What am I supposed to do for soft training treats?

Can't because of the salt. I suppose I could cook up a steak for her. Wish I could find something less messy though.

I know some treats that are plain chicken jerkey, oven baked with no salt. Right now Kato is eating sweet potato and chicken twists from VitaLife. The chicken and sweet potato are the only ingredients, listed on the package at least. However only the sweet potato is soft and Chloe's allergic to that too, right? You could use boiled chicken as treats, if you have the time. Is she allergic to carrots? Sometimes I bake Kato some carrots and occasionally other veggies. He likes them because they're sweet.

Yes, she's allergic to sweet potato, chicken, and carrots. She's also allergic to soy, wheat, corn, rice, white potato, rabbit pumpkin, and bison *sigh*.

She can have banana but that might be too sticky to use as training treats. It doesn't really matter at home, but we're going to take a class soon and I want something she can eat quickly. I have some dehydrated beef liver, and some biscuits I can break up but I would really like to find something that is quiet and I can cut up into small pieces. Plus according to what I read on Amazon they are made in China.

I was thinking of some apple. And maybe some peanut butter in a treat tube? I don't know if I can order it in time for class but can try.

I just checked out VitaLife, they do have a duck tenders treat which look promising ingredient wise, but not for getting into small pieces.

@Imzadi83 sometimes i feed my 8 year old australian shepherd, sokra, baked chickpeas.

i'm not sure if chloe would be allergic to chickpeas or not... but they're super yummy (even for a human to eat) and very healthy! make sure that you buy the organic ones without seasoning or flavoring. i suggest buying them raw and then baking them yourself in the oven. i only put mine in the oven for 20 minutes, but it depends on the oven and the temperature.

i suggest googling it for more precise information. but all in all, they're very tasty, healthy, and don't take long to make if you bake a whole bunch at once. hope this helped!

Thanks, that's a good idea! I'll look into that.

sophie escaped tuesday night and got hit by a truck. she sadly didn't survive the impact, and there was a 20m long skidmark from where the driver tried to swerve but couldn't... axel keeps crying at night because of it.
dad's already looking at getting another dog.
