It really depends on the environment you put them in afterwards. I hope I dont offend you but it is very common where a sales persons sales someone a fish or animal they are not prepared for. Especially goldfish, they need lots of filtration and room. If provided with that they can live 20+ years. :)

Oh snail update!! He is out and kinda moving around, I think it was just shock. And Kyro gets to go back in the main tank. He has to live with his cysts until they decide to pop so I just have to keep watch on him and when they do pop add him to the QT and salt to .1%. Another member on my goldfish fourm also has a fish that has cysts and they come and go. The fish is big and healthy and besides the cysts normal. As far and her and I can tell they do not hurt them much. Its kinda weird for me, I also have a type of cysts inside of me so it just makes me relate to my fish more.

Hey guys! Did a bit of digging around and came across this.

Anyone know how feasible this is?

It works. :) But you need to be careful when you buy a sponge. It cant have been in contact with any chemicals. Depending on your area that can be hard to do. I had to end up ordering a hydro V sponge filter. I highly recommend the hydro sponge filters. They are usually under 10 dollars. I got mine I think for 5 dollars and it can filter up to 215 gallons. The video you posted is basically what it is but way bigger.

The sponge filters draw in the water along with small debris in the sponge. Its mainly just a biological filter and wont really pick up a lot of debris if that is what you want it for. But its a great place to grow good bacteria and can easily be moved from tank to tank for an "instant" cycle when needed. :)

As long as the tank is a long tank rather than a tall tank, a sorority of bettas would be awesome. o3o
I've always wanted to do that too.
You just have to make sure you do you research for sororities. (There are some beautiful pictures of them out there too... :3)

@dia Thanks but, I've had a sorority before :) My tank is tall 0.0 That's why I was thinking of angels again because you can't have much else in there.

So I may be dealing with the first stages of velvet in my growout tank. -_- I hope it's not. Treating with higher temps, salt, and lights out.
