It could've been the paradise fish attacking the gourami. Either way, I'd say your stocking isn't that great, since you're mixing fish that prefer cooler temps, fish that prefer warmer temps, friendly fish, aggressive fish, small fish, big fish, fish that prefer brackish and fish that prefer freshwater.
my sig has been godawful ever since i got an account and im finally gettin around to prettyin it up so plz deal with it for a lil longer ty ur a peach

My mother has passed away, and I won't be as active for awhile. Sorry to everybody who needs me, just send me a PM.

is the knife fish a ghost knife? as they have been known to attack smaller fish (mostly at night) or just eating the eyes of bigger fish

how big is your tank?
It could be that one of your fish isnt playing nice with the others

The growafrogs are African Clawed Frogs. Make sure where you live allows them, they are banned in 11 states. African clawed frogs do not go well with fish, and need a much larger tank when they are older. ^-^ Just double check before purchasing one!

Yesterday he seemed a bit better. Today he was weaker and the gourami had chewed his fins down. He couldn't swim. I couldn't watch this, so I set up the other 15 gallon in a rushed panic and the second it was done he passed away...... I was worried the other goldfish might catch it too, so I moved the gourami into the tank. Now he is very scared. I don't know if this will benefit or if it's pointless and doing more harm to him than good. The tanks will be going in the new room Saturday as a definite. The goldfish will go into the 75 gallon and he will go back to the 15. Should I just leave him in the other tank or put him back before he dies of stress or something?

It might have been stress coat coming off, from well, stress. At this point it is hard to tell since the poor guy is dead but it being stress coat is my guess since 1. you do have stressful conditions at this moment and 2. none of the other goldies had it. Keep a close eye and if it shows up on the other fish take a pic and post it. It was a good idea to separate the gourami. He will eventually calm down and will be less stressful than being in the tank with the goldies. I highly recommend keeping him there until the other tanks are set up.

I kept him in there for a day and he was laying at the bottom of the tank, I moved him back and he is ok. The room is done and my dad will be home Thursday, so the tank will be set up Saturday or Sunday definatly.
