If I get a betta do I have to have a filter?

A delta tail, impressive the only betta types they have in the petsmart near me are Crowntails and i think veil tails, they sort of look like veil tails xD

My petsmart has deltatails, crowntails, females, veiltails, super deltas, and plakats!

I go to Petco, and they had;
-Crowntail
-King
-Deltatail
-Doubletail
-Halfmoon
-Plakat
-Veiltail
-and mixes of all thereof, not to mention females of all of the above.

And my betta is beautiful! I can't wait to post a picture, but I'll have to...my dad has the card reader, and the pics are on my USB card.

Actually the water has no beneficial bacteria to cycle a new tank. You use the filter or filter media or gravel from an existing tank that has already been cycled. Do you already have fish in the tank? How long has it been running? Do you know that the ammonia,nitrate and nitrite levels are?

I had the fish in for a haft a day, and it been running for 3 days

You need to let it cycle. Does It have a filter on it? It can take up to a month to cycle. All fish need filters. Unless you wanna do 50% water changes every day.

yes, you need a filter and a heater for your bettas.

The closests thing to me is Petsmart and they don't have very many type of bettas. I think my two betta fishes have veil tails, though they are not flowing and long like veil tails, i have no idea what they are xD

Thats good. Since fish are already in it you need to keep a close eye on the ammona, nitrate and nitrite levels. If you dont have a test kit I recommend getting one. If ammonia goes over 1ppm it could kill your fish.
