Should I take him out? or wait? or do something else?

its up to you if hes not actually ripping the tail it might just be a short term thing he might get over, but if its stressing out your betta it would be best to remove him

Okay, so I posted this ^ earlier. Apparently (according to mum) it's getting expensive with all these new needs (heater, sponge filter, actual fish, decor for the fry, etc...) so she suggested I just put the female in a little 1-5 gallon jar thing when she's about to have the fry and then remove the female and just care for the fry in the jar until they're big enough to fend for themselves. Would this work?

Yeah if you do daily water changes, keep the water heated and use an airstone, it would probably work. What about just using a net breeder and keeping it in the tank?

It's hard to keep the fry from getting on the other side, mine got out all the time from going under the gravel and out the top.

I agree. My guppy fry can get through my divider as well.

I was wondering when I might be worried about my balloon molly fry being able to breed. I've got three of them and an adult one, only two of them are from the same batch, the other fry is from a later batch and is smaller. I'm mainly wondering about the breeding age of balloon mollies.
