Tybalt wrote:Slight problem...... Recently, my Betta Ryan has been looking rather overweight. I thought it was just a trick of the light, but nope, he's getting rather fat.
I put both tropical fish flakes and sinking pellets in together every other day. (The remaining days they get bloodworms, my African Dwarf frogs only eat them)
Turns out he's been munching on the flakes, and then he goes down and eats the sinking pellets WHOLE. I'm worried its gonna cause a blockage or something.

I don't have another free tank to move him to.....and the pellets are for my Khulis, who take at least an hour to come out of hiding and eat them......by that time Ryan is stuffed.

What an earth do I do?

Maybe just stop feeding him the flakes? And maybe giving him some exersize by putting a mirror by/in his tank to make him flare. I don't know what else you could try.

I went to a petland today and looked at the goldfish. They where all bottem sitting and fin clamping so I kindly reported it to an assistant and she said we just moved tanks and she ran off to her manager before I could say Antony else. -.- There where 3 dead ones so no you did not just change tanks unles you threw the dead ones in and changing tanks don't matter it's the water quality. UGH lying to me and not taking care of your fish is the lowest of lows. -.-

My local pet shop always has dead fish. Before I had realized to terrible quality they had, I bought a betta from there and he instantly had ich. He got over it but i'm not planning on getting any more fish from there. I'm getting some mollies from my very nice neighbour instead.

The poor goldfish.

Pet Smart is where I buy my fish. :3

My local aquariums really stink, but my petsmart keeps its tanks super clean. :)

My platy had her babies last night! I count at least 6. There may be more, I was so happy when I woke up. Then I realized some had escaped from the net breeder. I don't know how but then I tried catching them. I managed to catch 4 and there are at least 2 more in the tank. I hope they don't get sucked into the filter though. I'm not sure how many she had originally because some may have gotten eaten...also my black Molly has has been showing the signs(I'm not sure how long it takes after they get pregnant to look like it) of being pregnant for about a week and a half. When should I separate her? Also any other suggestions for a breeding thing?

I went to petco last night. As always this petco has great water quality all the fish are healthy except this time one of the tanks seemed to have fin rot, it could have just been fighting but it seemed to be affecting all the pleco's and platys in the tank D= I'm calling the store to let them know today the lady who helped me last night was really nice but was obviously not someone who usually worked in the fish department and didn't know much about the fish (I went at 8pm and there were only 2 employees one of which I have only seen working the cashier and the nice lady) So I figured it would be best to call today and let them know.
Well last night I got two angel fish (I am probably getting one more today >.> there were only three there and I only wanted two originally but I ended up taking the one thats left's friend and now I feel so awful about it D= )and then I got another female betta =D I didnt plan to but there was a pretty red one and I couldn't resist >.>. Here is currently what is in my tank:
1 tiger barb (the last one out of a school of 6 I don't want any more and he seems fine schooling with the black skirts)
2 black skirt tetras (Same story as the barb)
6 female betta's
1 golden dojo loach
1 pleco
2 angel fish
1 female swordtail
thats about it :D
I also have three new live plants :D and put a black backround on my tank to make the colors pop :D I'll get some new pictures up and hopefully some videos too :D
