I found this quote while doing more cory cat research.

They will also eat any dead, dying, or even injured fish, that sit on the substrate too long. They're very opportunistic!

I got a 40 gallon yesterday with a hood and stand and hubby decided it would look good in the bedroom bahaha

I bought mine off someone who was selling really cheap because they were moving, so it came with 5 fantail goldfish and a black moor.
I'm not sure if thats too many for that sized tank... I was kinda hoping to get a Betta :S

A 40 is only really suited for 2 maybe 3 if you have really good filtration but if your not wanting the goldfish you can sometimes sell them to a petshop but make sure they take good care of the fish first.
@toboelover Best of luck, I was thinking of ordering one offline but the shipping charges cost more or equal to the fish.

I'd freak out ordering a fish online.
I know they have those garunteed live arrival, but you have to cut off the fish's tail most of the time if it actually comes dead to prove it. o.o
I wouldnt be able to to do that even though the fish was dead.

Well the type of shipping I chose does not have a live arrival guarantee, and he only requires a pic of the dead fish in the open bag otherwise. But I sure hope she makes it alight. If she does, I may breed her to my red male.

What color and type is she?

She is a 'mother of pearl' plakat. I've never heard of that color before her, but she's white and shines different colors in light.
