Hey guys, I guess I'll kick this new thread off by saying hey, I'm Cat;; ! I own a male 1.5 year old lovebird named Nash and work/volunteer at a parrot rescue where we have about 40 birds ( including finches and budgies and stuff so it's not as crazy as it sounds. ) I have had parrot experience for 10+ years! I also have a foster Lovebird, named Dory

Nash is very mischievous, and loves to get into things he's not supposed to! He spends his days eating, screaming, and flirting with Dory, who is kept in a separate cage. He is 1 year and about 5 months old, and I have had him since he was 3 months old. He has changed so much in color, attitude in size since when I first rescued him from a horrible pet shop, where he was kept in a cage the size of a large toaster. He loves quinoa and sweet potato, and takes baths all the time. He knows how to spin in a circle, and how to wave with his foot on command!

I got Dory in June of 2016 as a foster parrot. She is about 4 years old, and her training and taming is coming along very nicely! She was parent raised, and I am her first home so it has been a challenge to get her to trust me! She makes really weird noises ( compared to other lovebirds ) and was sat on as a baby by her parents, so her legs are sprayed... but this doesn't stop her from being mobile and flying around! She loves millet, and sitting on my head!

Nash and Dory are both recall, and clicker trained as well as flighted fully! They love their life and I am so happy I can get them to trust me as much as I do! If any of you have questions about getting your parrot clicker trained, recall trained, or just safely flighted in general please let me know! All of these things can be achieved with any bird and can be practiced to ensure a healthy and happy bird in your home(:

How many birds do you own? ( if applicable ): 1 currently, they're a spice finch, I've had a few in the past such as a northern saw-whet owl, and 10 budgies.
How long have you had them?: I've had my spice finch for four to five years now, if I remember correctly.
What brings you to the bird chat?: No reason in particular, I just like birds.

@satan WOW I have never seen a finch hand tame like that before... We have 3 finches but they are so scared of us that's just amazing how he sat on your finger like that!

@harry welcome and thats so neat. Birds are great companions and a great pet to have ( honestly better than a dog in my opinion LOL ). If you were to get one what type of bird would it be?
