I'm so behind on doing the dogs nails. Im basically the worst dog parent ever at this point. I KNOW how important nail care is but slack off. Lucky is easy to do but I dread doing Junipers. She really does not like it and I really do not want to get bitten in the face. Woe as meeee
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe

I feel you. :I Winston and Missy are perfectly fine with me touching their paws, but the little rat-terrier-mix siblings are the total opposite. Summer wails, flails, and makes everything extremely dramatic, while Cosmo turns into Hannibal Lecter.

I don't cut my dogs nails because if I go a little bit to far they scream loudly

Since we're all talking about clipping dogs' nails, here are how Meggi [boxer], Floco and Guigas [pekingese mixes] reactions XD

Guigas
Guigas is pretty chilled out, never bit me or anything. So you can probably guess what happens. I've clipped Guigas' nails before, and he doesn't mind. He just lays back and pretends it's not even happening XDD

Floco [Flake]
Ahh. He's nothing like his father, Guigas. He's probably the worst out of all these. Floco is kinda rabid when it comes to nail clipping. HE HATES IT! I can't blame him though. He just violently shakes his head around and yips. That's why we avoid clipping his nails.

Meggi
She's normal, even though I've never seen or done it. Her owners tell me that she sometimes howls just for being uncomfortable, but sometimes she's like Guigas.
hey guys!! i'm sorry i quit cs for a while as i was having a rough time, but now i'm back! i couldn't log in to this account at first but that's because i had the username wrong *facepalm*.

Awee, look at Vashti, all cute in her new sweater c: Look at that mane!!

Unfortunately, for Vashti, it is time for her monthly bath^^ Her paws are looking extra gunky this time and need to be trimmed badly.
Vashti really only tolerates her baths, luckily they're only once a month. Like, she won't bite me or anything, but the whole tail tucked ears back stance is there. And if I have to quickly run out of the room, to get nail clippers or the blow dryer, she won't hop out of the bath.

Also, summer is nearing and with that horrible shedding. I'm very very paranoid about getting her groomed at a pet store, like PetSmart. I've just heard really bad stories and would never want something like that to happen to my own dog.
Anybody else??

My dogs are such weirdos, I was counting how many pounds of meat I had left in my freezer and Chewie wouldn't get out from under my feet. So I laid out this frozen deer shoulder to occupy him.

Goofball couldn't figure out how to chew on it. Princess sure did though! She went right after it! Got a surprisingly big chunk of meat off it too. Gonna start giving her this every other day for teeth cleaning. Due to her underbite, smaller bones just don't work at all, she can only really eat drumsticks and feet which don't clean her teeth much. Glad I grabbed this thing out today!

Good news!
My dad and step mum are planning on getting another dog to keep Axel company. We're not quite sure what breed just yet, but my step mum wants to get a lab or a retriever. Does anyone have any suggestions.?
We've got a 1.5 acre property with a large backyard, and plenty of other dogs around the neighbourhood. We're looking for a medium or a medium-large dog that doesn't drool too much, is friendly, relatively intelligent and isn't too strong. One that'll be good with another dog (specifically a staffy) is one that we have in mind at the moment.

If you think you can handle the energy, try a heeler. :) They are medium, sometimes borderline large, usually get along with other dogs great, don't drool much, very smart, willing to learn, relatively healthy, but not too crazy strong. All around great dogs, especially if you have acreage, but they do have a lot of energy; if you think you can keep up with one, they're a good pick! Australian Shepherds are similar. Another good breed all-around is the German Shepherd, though they shed a whole lot and can be prone to cancer & hip dysplasia. Other than that, they are easier to handle than heelers. Good luck finding a suitable dog! :)
