My sweet, loving, well-mannered seven month old boxer/husky mix puppy got hit by a car the night before last... please, please, please, if you drive, always look at the side of the road and don't speed.

Ajax got a fractured jaw and all of his front teeth knocked out, with the exception of one canine holding tight. He's lost so much of his puppy spirit but I've got my fingers crossed that as he gets better, his beautiful inner spirit will come back through.

This is one of the hardest experiences of my life. I couldn't move when it happened, couldn't breath. Thankfully he's home again, eating well and doing his best to drink despite his immense pain.

I reiterate... if you drive, please be careful.

I'm sorry to hear that... This is terrible. My fingers are crossed. Don't worry, he'll be alright. It must be so hard for you ;-;

So I started off the day going to visit that dog groomer. She taught me how to groom Addy. It was an amazing experience and she let me do it all on my own. She would turn the clippers off, show me what to do and then have me do it myself. So it's not perfect but she sure looks a heck of a lot better than she did before. She just looks more trimmed up and not as shaggy. She also taught me how to blend and all of that stuff, so I am super excited to continue working with her this summer.

And then the dogs and I walked to the park ( took about 30 minutes) and worked on Addy's "off-leash" walking. Basically just working on her recall and making sure she stays fairly close. She did a really amazing job!! Going on a hike tomorrow morning so I am hoping the same thing happens!!

Image

And then when I got home I realized I forgot my keys inside the house. My mom locked up the house and was gone shopping for groceries... So worked on some stays in the front yard with distractions. Also got a couple of cute photos :)

oh wow thats terrible, i was shocked to read this as i did go on for a short Moment, so i had to write something
we also have such stupid Driver here ...hope they did help you atleast!!!

...im so happy that your poor lucky puppy does life :!: :)
i wish you good luck and hope that he is on good pain meds...and that he gets well soon!
(he is Young so with your love and care he will be a happy puppy soon dont worry to much, he will feel this, so heads up)
i cant tell how hard it must be to see this, when you need to talk you can write me...i even can look up some things to help or so.

when he cant take them whole- the painkillers ,ground them to powder and put them in a syringe with some gravy or so and give carefully in the back of mouth....
the same you can do with his Food or water...but in a little bigger Syringe...but i think this may have told you the vet already...

maybe cooling is good too...not sure if your vet did say if this is good, small cubes in his water bowl to Keep the water cool...
but Keep Body warm

maybe some herbs cooked as tea(cooled down) can help him fight any infection that maybe in his mouth...like willow bark...they help also with pain...i do give them my horse when she gets sick again.

did you find some of the teeth that are still good to put back in?

--> where it still his Baby tooth or already all new ones?

Maybe this could be of interest to replace the loost ones, he is still very Young so all will go well i hope(some neighbour did this with there young cat that was hit by a car):

@Dr. McDreamy
It was an accident and neither my brother or Epic could be blamed. Everyone understands what happened and we all just need to be more careful. My brother is doing a lot better today and seems to no longer have hard feelings against Epic. He's seven but totally understood what happened and his injury is very minor, he's gotten worse from tripping.
Moving out could possibly happen sometime in the next year at soonest (though kind of unlikely). We're kind of in a unique situation so I'd have to move two countries away to move out, and it's kind of dependent on my older siblings as well.

Can anybody suggest some good American Pit Bull Terrier in Canada, or one close by British Columbia that I could potentially drive to? I've been wanting one FOREVER and since college is almost up... I'll have enough money to finally get a perfect little angel! But for the life of me, I can't find exactly what I'm looking for, or they all seem kinda sketchy.

No idea on the APBT breeders, but you haven't been on here much! How's Piper?

Did you want a working dog or a show dog standard?
