    Lyra's in heat again.
Her spay's been postponed until March, I honestly just want to get it over with.

No registration necessary, it's open to all mixed breeds and pet homes. Once I have the money, I plan on getting the Novice and Intermediate trick dog title with my mutt. And It's super easy, you just fill out the application for the title you are going for and list a witness. The only thing you need a video for is the champion trick dog title, all others are just filling out the form.

You also can register your dog with the AKC :) You should be able to, anyway. The AKC has their regular registration, PAL (purebred alternative listing), and their canine partners program for mixed breeds and mutts. They have these so that all types of dogs can compete in their competitions. For your GSD, you could do the PAL if you wanted! I've been considering doing it for my greyhound. I just thought I would mention it if that was something you had been interested in.

Do you own a dog?: My family had a BC when I was younger, and now my fiancée and I are working towards adopting a dog of our own.
Favorite dog breed?: Sighthounds! Especially borzoi and greyhounds. (I love keeping up with Beaker and Geyser on here!)
Tell us about your dog(s), if you have any!: Today we heard back from the rescue in Sochi and have been approved to adopt a woof from them! The dog we had initially had our hearts set on turned out to not be the right fit for us and our inexperience with the issues she has, but after lots of back and forth emails, it seems like her sister would do really well with us. She's a 30 lb black and white whippet mix, with adorable Dobby the elf ears. I'm so, so excited to welcome this little street dog into our family.
Pictures of your dog(s): Starting in a month or so, there will be lots!

I've lurked on this thread for ages, and am super happy to have a reason to post. I look forward to learning from all of you and your dogs!

finally got around to registering loki, his akc name being Loki's Echo. We got him a sweater yesterday and my mom surprised me and got me a framed picture of Rosie today. It's this picture that's in the frame. Here is a few of Loki. Littleman's been cheering me up, i guess he knows i'm still upset. also found some pictures of his parents when i went to the breeder's twitter and facebook.

Wow that's so exciting! I cannot wait to see pictures of her. :) Update us when you've chosen a name. She sounds adorable.

So, we've gotten nowhere with Epic. We've been going out and using the neighbour's little terrier as a decoy. We were out of sight and Epic was still freaking out.
I can no longer CC with her, no amount of distance will have her calm enough to not take my fingers off. Even a treat delivered by flat hand results in her biting part of my hand and it frickin' hurts. Dropping on the ground doesn't really work, she ignores them.

Would it be stupid to just walk her behind a dog at a distance, ignore all crazy behavior and then once any sign of calmness/eye contact/none-craziness happens, jackpot? Like just walk, no CCing, no BAT, no LAT, just walking and ignoring.
We've got a dog who just doesn't care and would do great in front, a sort of trail that can entertain the front dog, multiple people who can accompany, a freaky-outey dog and one handler who's looking to not get bit when delivering treats. This is a dog that she's not afraid of, but still goes insane when she sees it.
