I'm hoping this doesn't mean there's something wrong with her or if it's just natural. Our other dog was barking at her though, anyone know why she could have been howling? Other then the fact she has been trying to get inside the house.

Is she showing any signs of aggression? Majority of dogs in pain will show some sign of aggression. Any physical signs of injury? blood? Limping? She might be hungry so maybe give her some food if you haven't already. She's most likely just scared and nervous. All you can do is make her stay with you as comfortable as possible until she is taken to the vets or rescue centre. Its unlikely she's injured a lot so don't worry too much about that. If she has injuries, I am sure they are just minor.

Apparently she was dumped. We checked around to see if she belonged to anyone, but f we does then it's pretty unlikely we would find them since we live in a pretty rural area. She hasn't been aggressive at all and she doesnt seem injred, though she does have a few marked up places. She is very sweet although she definitely has been trying to get in our house, in which we can't let we because she just sheds to much. We fed her already though. However, when we were swimming in our pool, she kept whining and walking around. We are assuming that she is hot as she doesn't seem injured or anything. Andhow do we keep her from jumping up on us? We do think she has some herding breed in her, but she keeps jumpin up and lickin/nipping people. She may be excited, as we have been away for a week or two (we had someone feed and water her while we were gone) but at this point, if she is lost we won't find her owners and we MIGHT keep her if we can't find her a home, but the jumping up is getting really annoying.

I would still try and find the owner its alright assuming she was dumped but she could just be lost. Dogs have been none to wounder miles if they are confused and lost, and just think if there is in owner looking and you just keep her with out even trying to find them. I would get in touch with a shelter and say you have a stray and ask for them to look make flyers and put an add in the paper or on a website. If noone gets in touch its safe to assume.
Just don't be quick to take in a stray with out looking for an owner.
