Hi I am just popping in cause one of my FB friends had their beta fish in a tiny bowl. Can you provide me with some care link so maybe she will believe me that this is not proper care. Feel free to PM me :)

So I need to invest in a gravel cleaner, I think. My tanks are clean and all, I do water changes as needed, but there's just a coating of... ick on the gravel, for lack of a better word haha. Anytime I add more water it stirs it up, too, and it settles back down. I don't know how the cleaners work, however, or any idea of what kind of size or whatever to use. I have large gravel in all my tanks, and we have multiple 3-5 gallons and will have one 10 gallon to clean.

With gravel I thought a gravel cleaner/vaccuun was kind of must have thing, exactly for the reasons you mentioned. See you can put replace the dirty water with clean water, but the dirt is still in the tank if you don't get that gravel cleaned.
I unfortunately can't recommend you any small ones as I have a bigger one, but I know there are some made for nano tanks especially. As for how to use one youtube has lot of videos on that. Try finding a one that doesn't tell you to suck the hose though, at least I don't want to suck the hose that has had tank water running through...

help help help help ;v;

so my boy Luna (he's a betta fish) has suddenly gone all... weird? He hardly comes out of his hidey hole, and sometimes doesn't even want to eat his food? Could this be a sign of him being over fed? I changed his feeding arrangement at the beginning of the year, at first he loved it but now it's like he's sad all the time? It's come to the point where I barely see him and he rests a lot.

I just want to help him! It started a couple weeks ago. Any help is greatly appreciated, and treatments. Thanks in advance ~ Lotus Petal

What is his tank set-up and how much do you feed him?

Marking just in case...
It's been ages since I've last been on this site, and I've only come back for nostalgic reasons.

They have a small one that looks like a giant crayon, a tube with a pointed end and a stick to pull up and create suction. I've seen it at petsmart, it would work well for small tanks and would function in a 10 gallon if you filled it multiple times. They also have ones like I have, with a big plastic tube and then small flexible tubing, you can start suction by filling the whole thing with water then taking your thumb off the small tubing and letting it flow to a bucket, but it doesn't work well on nano tanks because they can only make them so small. For your range of tank sizes I would recommend the first type.
I love the fish, ESPECIALLY bettas. Trade me!
I was gone for a couple months, so I'm trying to catch back up on the pets from Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and the month pets during that time.

Well guys I adopted a betta from a friend of my sisters when I was on vacation and he made the long drive home two days ago I moved him into a quarantine tank yesterday and today he has gone crazy he's laying on his side floating and when he moves it's very spastic and bizarre he has a growth on his side pretty close to his spine and I wondering if its effecting his movement? Anybody have any ideas? He was acting like a normal betta yesterday now not so much?
mods me and Simple Serenity are bffs in real-life and we sometimes log-on from each-others computers i used to be astrosaur now i am dark dragon please dont steal!
