My betta (Winston Churchill, or Church for short) who I've had for probably 6-ish months now, was originally a dark grey color with patches of dark metallic green, blues, and black. I noticed while cleaning his bowl a couple weeks ago that the top of his head was turned a rusty color and he's gotten so much paler to the point where the blue doesn't show much anymore. The discoloration is only on his head though. I've never seen this in any of my bettas before. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this? I can provide further details on the type of food I give him and tank if needed. I'll appreciate any kind of help. Thank you!
I just noticed this says bowl, how many gallons? Heated, filtered?

Update time!
I have three male bettas!
One in a 45gal. (With guppies platys and 2 dozen chiclid fry)
One in a 10gal. (Alone for now)
One temporarily in a 1gal. Bowl until I can fix a broken filter (his normal home is a 10gal.)
I'll try to get photos up soon!
It's just a regular, big goldfish bowl probably the size of the tanks in pet stores, give or take a little. I do keep the water about room temperature and I siphon out probably 75% of it out and refill every week or so (sometimes I completely change all of the water) but the water never looks or smells contaminated and he has never had any trouble before; the only bettas I've owned that ever died were knocked off the counter by my cat when I kept them in the much smaller generic betta starter tanks. I do remember I heard somewhere that the color of food you feed them can alter them in ways like this. Coincidentally the pellets I feed him are an orangey-rustic color but I don't know how reliable the source was.

That bowl sounds larger than most, it's probably enough gallonage for a betta. I would highly recommend getting a small heater to stabilize the temperature. You also can get really cheap sponge filters on ebay or amazon that cut down on the water changes you have to do. Just to keep him as healthy as possible, I would split that 75% change once a week into two 50% changes per week, evenly split however you want to. That bowl sounds larger than most, it's probably enough gallonage for a betta.

Be careful with those cichlid fry once they start growing up

I've changed her water, I've moved her to a different location, I've switched her feed, nothing. She just won't eat. She's active and seems to be healthy, she's become brighter since I've had her, but yet, she has not eaten since I've gotten here, at least that I can tell. I'm so confused as to what to do.
