Hello everybody! I'm new to this thread. c:
Username: Hollyleaf's BetrayalHow many fish tanks do you have: 2. 1 40 gallon and a little 3 gallon(If you don't count the 3 one gallon bowls. I can't even call them tanks)
Types of fish that you have: 7 Adult mollies,2 black, 2 creamcicle lyretails, and 3 silvers. There's only one male. Plus 15 fry (1 month old! And are all silver). They're all in the 40. I plan on keeping the 3 as a nursery for fry until they're big enough not to be eaten.
Your fishs' names: Bubba (Male Lyretail), Karma (Female Lyretail), Momo, Platinum, Mercury (All female silvers. Only I can tell them apart!), Crow and Raven (Raven has an iridescent green back.)
How long have you had fish: Well, I got my 40 gallon last year I think for my birthday. When it reaches January it'll officially be 2 years old!
I might as well add a few short things about my fish keeping experience.
I first got into the hobby when I met my friend (Who I convinced to join CS) and had a sleepover at her house. She had 2 55 gallon tanks. One had a turtle and the other a swarm of tetras. I knew I had fell in love.
I got my tank as a late Christmas/early birthday gift. A day or two after I got my tank filled up with water (Which took over 2 hours considering I had to fill it up one quart at a time.) I got fish. I feel so bad thinking about it. I had no clue what the nitrogen cycle was or anything. Zip. None. Nadda. I think I got 6 neon tetras, 4 hatchet fish, a betta, a few mollies and platies, some black phantom tetra, 2 peppered corries, and 2 clown plecos. All in the same day.
The longest fish that lived were the plecos. My plecos died not to long ago when I medicated with some ich med that I got from some new mollies I had introduced. I didn't know it had a high risk of killing fish with no scales! My betta passed from dropsy (I tried very hard to cure it. He didn't make it though.) my corries from the nippy phantom tetras, my neons from who knows what (They lasted at most 2 weeks.) I've learned from my mistakes. I'll try and get a picture if I can. It is a bit bare right now since I removed decorations that my fish kept getting injured on.
