(More so than usual) He seems to have been going down hill more and more over the past 5 months. I can't upload photos at the moment so please don't ask. We hardly see him move and he hardly eats anymore. Or we just never see him eat. Any ideas on what going on with him? I Got him at Pet Co. two years ago. When I brought it up with them 3 months ago they were surprised to hear that he had lived that long. But they couldn't tell me what was going on with him. I have been changing his water every 2-3 weeks or so. And when I change it I make sure to keep some of his old water with him. I read that that reduces stress on the fish. (Sorry that was all really out of sequence. I was just typing as it came to mind.) any help or advice?
How big is your tank, do you have a filter/heater, etc?
Two isn't that old for a betta; they usually live 3-5 years. You should probably be doing weekly water changes of about 15-20%, vs 2-3 week changes.
The tank is .5 gallons and we can't find a water heater sutable for that size tank. I also got him as an adult from the store. I guess I could try changing that amount of water weekly. Anything else I should try?
