Whoops.
I did a thing.
Basically I was at one of my local pet shops and I happened to pass by the betta section.
And I just happened to find my dream betta fish.
A lavender male crowntail with a bit of red on his tail.
Its seriously beautiful.
I had to buy a new tank with a heater and filter plus some fake plants and one of those betta leaf things that I forgot the name of.
Totally worth it though, he's beautiful.
I'll post some pictures of all of my betta fishies as soon as I find my dang camera. c:

what kind of food should I order for a betta?
also, I'm trying to find a good heater for a 2 gallon tank, hopefully one that isn't super expensive but at the same time I don't really know what I'm looking for. Would anyone have any recommendations?

Hello! Just wanna know a bit about ghost shrimp!

1. Preferred ph for them?
2. Temperature?
3. Territorial or not?
4. How much is the bioload for them?
5. Tank size?

Actually, I'm not getting any shrimps anytime soon, I just imagined a tank with lots of plants and ghost shrimps hopping all around! Then thought of some questions.
I used to be sugar pixel .

How many fish tanks do you have: 2 spare small ones I'd use for nursery or something (bowl and small square one) and i have a 5.5 gallon for my fish also a pond.
Types of fish that you have: -Koi (They are in the pond and are very big!)
-Goldfish (In the pond too, we don't have names for them, because we don't know how many are in there)
i'm also getting 3 mystery/apple snails; black (already naming Flail), ivory, and gold. i might also get neon tetras, african dwarf frog(s), and a Otocinclus Catfish

Your fishs' names:
-Tigress (Koi)
-Muddy (Koi)
-Rocket (Halfmoon Male Betta)

How long have you had fish: No idea. I used to have another betta, unsure of the type, his name was Bob and I was very young at the time. And my pond fish are very old.

Also Rocket's fins are torn :(

ahhh, does anyone else get an overwhelmingly happy feeling when they clean a fish tank out? Just did a 75% water change on my little axolotl and DANG she is so big! Added a cute little hide in there too so now she has 2 hides, hoping to get her a larger tank and deck it out too, but that wont be until december probably. Luckily she's only about 5 inches long now so I think the 10 gallon is ok for these next few months(:

1. 6.5-8, but don't worry about it.
2. 65-85F
3. If you overstock they will fight, otherwise they're pretty mellow.
4. Very light
5. 5 shrimp per gallon, but don't use a 1 gallon tank. Shrimp are VERY sensitive to water quality and it's difficult to keep a stable nitrogen cycle in that small of a tank. 5 gallons is good.

If you get glass shrimp at Petco or petsmart or another chain-type store, most will die shortly. They're bred as feeders and zero care is given to their treatment and health before being shipped to the store.

Indeed. Livebearers in general make a lot of waste.

Would guppies be less considering their size, or would they be just the same?
