Annoying Things People Do To/With Your Pet(s)

I cannot stand it when people bring their dogs/puppies over to greet my puppy.... People don’t even ask, they just go ahead and come on over. You don’t know my dog, or how she behaves, or if your dog is a threat to her (or vice versa).

It’s just a big no no. Please ask first.

every time someone picks up my kitten the wrong way, or is too rough with him i get super angry
also everyone treating my adult cat like he's a jerk because he doesn't like being held by anyone except me and even then its only for a few minutes
or waking my kitten up just so he can go play (he plays a lot anyway, but kittens need a lot of sleep and if he's resting i'd rather wait until he wakes up on his own)
also whenever people treat my cats as if they're dogs or get annoyed when they do cat stuff

when people don't support athena's (my cat's) back legs when they pick her up like buddy ur gonna hurt her spine or make her pull a muscle or smth cats arent supposed to be held like that (coughs @ my mom and some of my friends)

wwhhOOOOOOO boy, a lot of people handle my pets weirdly, from picking them up weirdly, to petting them weirdly.

like???????? don't annoy them???? don't hurt them either or i'll call the police??????? how would you like it if someone shouted at you for no reason??

get lost if you're gonna hurt my pets, you ain't worth the time.

Uh, please don't demonize snakes. They use it to hunt for smaller prey and only bite if they can't slither away from predators.

"Make sure your corn snake doesn't bite you, because there's an anti venom shortage..."
No, corn snakes aren't venomous. My snake only bit me ONCE because I forgot to wash my hands after handling my pet rat, and he smelled it and mistaken my thumb as food.

All wounds have a chance of being infected if not properly cleaned. Corn snake bites don't contain anything that's purposely intended to make people and even their prey sick. Cat scratches hurts a hell a lot more than tiny snake teeth. (Doesn't tickle, but it feels like a small pricker weed to me)

I understand people can be naturally scared of snakes, but demonizing them isn't the answer. These are actually real comments I've received in real life. (I didn't answer in a mean/fed up tone like this post) Instead of assuming, ask questions c:

When people try to tell me my goldfish don't need so much space and that "y'know, my goldfish lived for four years in a bowl and he seemed happy."

First of all, don't try to educate me about an animal I know more about than you do. Second of all, if that's the case, your goldfish survived for less than half of his expected lifespan, so congratulations.

I get that many people are misinformed about the conditions their fish should really be kept in, but you step over the line when you try to insist that you know better and that your abusive conditions should be the standard.

I hate when people meet your animal for 2 seconds and think they know every little thing about it..

when i tell people my dog is a guy and they keep calling him a she, even if i tell them over and over. "but he looks like a girl!" well he's not.

sorry, had to rant. some people that i've known for TWO years still call him a she. i just gave up on telling them.
