Thirding everyone; go to a vet. A drop in appetite can be serious. Get your pup taken care of before making any changes.

Cardinal wrote:Are you in the US? I'm not exactly up to date on brands as I've been feeding raw for a while now and not keeping up with kibble news.

Merrick, Whole Earth Farms, Taste of the Wild, Zignature, Earthborn Holistic, Wellness and Wellness CORE, Blue buffalo and BB Freedom and BB Wilderness, 4Health, Infinia, Nutrisca, Acana, Orijen, Evo, Innova Prime, Canidea Pure Elements, Fromm, Go!... I sure theres many many more I'm not thinking of. Anyone want to fill in some brands? Your best bet is to go corn/soy/wheat free and preferably grain free in total. Avoid unnamed by-products.

You got the big ones though the big three that I hear a lot are Taste of the Wild, Orijen, and Acana and occasionally I see Canidae and Merrick. I personally love Fromm and feed it to Gatsby, he loves Pork and Peas.

If you're changing your dog's food be sure to look up the gradual food introduction. I'm totally blanking on the proportions and timing off the top of my head but there is a way to introduce new food with little impact on the digestive tract.

Oh, and before I forget. Dog Food Advisor is a great resource. They rate and break down ingredients in dog food so you know what your dog is getting. Reading the ingredients is essential for making sure your dog gets the good stuff they need.

One dog that would never hurt someone is a staffed shire bull terrier, they are the sweetest, most cuddly dog ever

Staffordshire bull terries can and have bitten just like any other breed.

Im biased but I dont trust rottie/gsd mixes as far as you can throw em.. and I have thrown em multiple times.
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe

*Chihuahua not Chiwawa

I personally am wary of Chow Chows.
I've had multiple bad experiences
with them toward me, friends and
family, and my dogs. I'm also slightly
wary of most Akitas and Shar Peis,
again from many different dogs and
personal experiences.

@BulletRain
I own an American Staffordshire Terrier,
and would NEVER tell someone he never
bites. He's a dog, he has good days and
bad days, and isn't 100% predictable, like
Every.Other.Dog.Breed. All dog breeds can
and eventually will bite.

I never approach guardian breeds owned by others. If you are walking a doberman, GSD, mastiff, any of those, I'm not getting near it. Too many people in my area think it's hilarious to lure a bystander up to their dog and then let their dog lunge and snarl just out of reach. I've been bitten enough times in my life without needing a bite from one of this jerks.

Dogs that I specifically hate and will never get over hating: scottish terriers.

darkvoodoo: You've already bred Midget to Hermes? Isn't he really really young yet? And both dogs still untitled?
