I can see where you're coming from with the snazzy harnesses/collar thing. There is some types of clothing that hinders a dog's movement, though, and I think those should be avoided, yet people still make their dogs wear them.

For example, one time, when I was walking my Beagle, I saw a woman that was literally carrying her dog. I asked her why she was doing this, and she said it was because her dog couldn't walk while wearing the jacket she put on her. Her dog also clearly wanted to play with my dog, but she refrained from it, saying, "No! Her jacket would be destroyed!" :/

QUESTION: Do you think it's cruel or cute to dress up dogs? Do you dress up your dogs?

Personally, I think the only time it's acceptable to dress up a dog is if they are, for example, a Greyhound, or just a dog with a very short or hairless coat in general, and are going to be out in cold weather. Then, I suppose it's fine to have them them wear a sweater or a coat.

Okay, obviously that doesn't imply that you think it's cruel for anyone to put anything on their dog when they're not short coated or hairless and it's not cold out. How dare I take offense to someone implying that I'm 'cruel' for being willing to put them in anything other then a sweater even if it's for their health or to make my dog look less 'scary' to others or, heck, just because I find it cute and silly.

If a clothing hinders the dog's movement, it's not properly fitted. That's not the clothing's fault. It's the owner's fault.

honestly i think its okay for a dog to be put in an outfit and or anything else, if i can bud into this conversation. ruby refuses to go outside when its wet, and our yard is always wet. so we have to put little rain boots on her paws to actually get her to go outside. and when its raining, like today (where i am), i have two raincoats for her. and like cardinal said, its just like putting on a snazzy or fancy collar or something on them for fashion c: ruby absolutely loves her rain boots and raincoat though, she dosent mind at all putting it on, not even the first time. some dogs might not like something to be on them, and some dogs might enjoy it like my own.

speaking of dressing up dogs, what do you guys think of ruby dressing as a hot dog for halloween?

I'm a cruel cruel person. I put Doakes in the silliest outfits sometimes.
A couple years ago I was the Cheshire cat for Halloween, my friend and I hand made the tail, ears, leg warmers, and arm wraps. We sacrificed this giant stuffed lizard my ex stepbrother won me from the fair, needed stuffing for the tail. When we were done gutting it my friend resewed it up into a costume for doakes since it was big enough to do so. He looked miserable for about two seconds until I gave him a few treats, after that he was prancing around the apartment while we hysterically shouted things like "oh no its Godzilla, run for your life!"
Then the little derp thought it was all a game and started chasing my friend and I around while my grandma just sat at her desk laughing at us.

Nowadays doakes pretty much only wears things for health reasons. His no chest fur and early morning bathroom break don't work well without one if his sweaters.

Links been getting cold in the mornings too, so its about time to start shopping for big dog sweaters. Which I'm so excited about! Its so hard to find things in Doakes size, he fits all the smalls around his neck and legs, but his deep min pin chest make smalls too tight there. So we end up having to find weird mediums for him, drastically limiting what we can get him.
There's always so much more variety in the large and up sizes at my store.

She hasn't eaten it, cause I won't let her, but Chloe has a thing for pens and paper.

Pork brains. Pigs feet. Chicken gizzards. ;) Whole squirrel.
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe

It's fine to state your opinion but you don't need to state your opinion in an offensive way. If I still had Clemmy, I would put t-shirts on her for some of our walks. Part of that is because I think it's cute and part of that is because people will actually stop to pet her (which she LOVES) when she's wearing clothing. But to you, that's 'unacceptable' because she doesn't NEED it. Your calling that cruel is like saying that's on the same level as people who hit their dogs or starve them.

I'm allowed to be upset when someone says something offensive. You can't say something offensive then act like it's the other person's problem for being offended by it. And no, it being your 'opinion' doesn't stop it from being offensive.

Weirdest thing Creed has eaten would definitely be chicken feet if we're going by "normal dog things" weird. Full of essential nutrients!

If we're talking about "normal dog things" I would say bully sticks, but the beef tripe comes a close second. Chloe's had kangaroo too which most people in the US would probably think is weird.
