My initial impression of the puppies was WOW THEY ARE PUPPIES. I uh. I like difficult puppies. I like puppies that chew on you, that do everything with enthusiasm, that are loud and proud and the center of attention in the room. I like puppies that insist on interacting with you even when you have important things to do (like finishing your client's website for example). They were PUPPIES! And I loved it! But someone who doesn't like such enthusiastic puppies might not have. Mocha by comparison was such a calm puppy that we joked she was a stuffed animal.
And then I spent the next 5 or so hours every day for the rest of the month being chewed on and entertaining puppies instead of finishing their website oops. It did get done! But only snatches of work in between games, training, and NETTIE FOR THE LAST TIME MY ARM IS NOT A CHEW TOY THAT HURTS STAHP with the puppies. Granted there were 3 on me at once all trying to eat various parts of my body but I can imagine even one would be a handful.
Not surprisingly, their adult dogs were not as overly friendly or rambunctious. When I went to visit their land, yes I saw their adult dogs being playful with the owners and with each other, but when they were brought into my workspace they were calm, quiet, respectful... and veeery aloof. I was a stranger and not someone to find therefore they really didn't care what I was or what I did. If I was being loud with the puppies they'd watch me but that was about it. They were very quiet opposed to at home where they were very loud. I imagine a lot of that was public access training, but it was interesting to see the difference between the puppies.
I'm actually really sad to move away from them. For payment they gave me unlimited access to their dog pool and I have yet to take advantage of it

But it was a really fun experience. Definitely not the dogs for me, I don't think.
