Straight from the news report...

It doesn't look anything like a pit bull, tbh. In fact, all of the news sources that I see call it a lab/chow mix.

Coat, conformation, and tailset is entirely wrong for a bully breed as is the head.

California is a high rabies area. The 10 day hold is mandatory after any bites to ensure that the victim does not need a series of vaccinations to protect them from the disease. After that, the dog will be PTS.

I live in the UK and the only vid I have seen was of the dog just standing there then running and mauling the kid.
Don't know if anyone else lives in the UK but that's the only vid I have seen of it.
I saw a different vid from that, I'll try and find it.
Anyways, its not a big deal.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/video/ ... tack-video
Even the Guardian's reporting it as a lab/chow... That's the video everyone's seen, no one else has pictures of the dog outside of that. I'm not seeing how it looks anything like a bully breed? You do realize that here in the US where people are trying to ban bullies, if it was a bully breed the media would be all over it calling it a pit bull and saying that all bully breeds need to be banned etcetc.

To me, it looked like a bully breed.
*shrugs* its not a big deal at all so I'm ending it here.

Anyone else have a dog that licks furniture?
Caleb will literally just sit and lick the sofa like its a bone or something.
Any thoughts?

To me, its fur looked WAY
too thick to be a bully breed
of any sort. I agree, its a Chow/Lab
mix for sure. For once, they
actually reported its breed
correctly. If it was one of my
local news stations, they'd call
it a Bully mix in a heartbeat.

Anyways, its not a big deal.

they showed the same clip here, i think it was to make it not clear what the breed was (oh the joys of media hmm)

i heard about it from someone i know from walking my dog she said it was a chow mix (she bought it up cause guy who has kicked TWO dogs in are little group ran past setting my dog and the other one barking at him, the other dog is a lab mix)

and the dog is some kind of lab mutt i can tell that but where i live we would not call it a bully breed (most common bully breed around here is both types of staffi)

i just hate how where i live any slightley stocky dog on the news is called a pit,i have seen people call staffies pits cause they saw it called so on the news.

in other news as i said above two dogs (one mine) have been kicked by the same guy at my park, the dogs don't like him at all now, my dog got kicked at when he just happy trotted up to the fence the guy ran next to (i was trying to find doggie number 2s at the time) then when the guy kicked my boy growled and the guy kicked at him again (he missed every time)

the other dog sam he was stnding around while sam played and spooked her she went up to see and appertley he kicked at her and swore and yelled at the owner ,wich set sam of more

i need a new signature

I like this book a lot. What exactly's going on that makes you call it leash reactivity?

My friend's dog {Nix, I've talked about
her before} lunges and snaps at dogs
when on the leash, but is quick to warm
up to strange dogs when off the leash.
She has no barrier reactivity, it's just
when she knows she's on a lead.

Princess is so unladylike lol

Anyways, still need tips on how to get Grace to like the kennel more. Somehow Chew now sleeps in my room, Princess on the couch and Gracie in the kennel. (As opposed to the previous Chew&Princess in the kennel with Grace free on the couch.)
