1. Warmbloods
2. Black or a dark bay
3. Around 14-15hh
4. I'm honestly not sure. I really like the names, though cx

1. Akhal Tekes
2. 'Champagne' or Black
3. 15/16"
4. Female: Artemia, Indomita, Andromeda, Pandora, Regina
Male: Mercury, Jaspar, Thorn, Firnen, Nebulus ? Idk... CX

I ride a white Arabian girl called Tazmin and Taz for short. She is very jumpy and skittish! She is very fast which is not good for me XC...

Does anyone do bareback here? It looks scary!

@chrystanthium I ride bareback sometimes. Normally I just muck around with Midnight (my horse) when I'm on bareback but he is very uncomfortable, uneven, bouncy an uneducated so sometimes it can be hard to stay on.

@other news today
I was mucking around in the paddock the other day and I decided to do some jumping. We don't have any proper jumping equipment and you just have to make do. I didn't want to jump small again but that's all we could set up with what we had. So I got our two barrels and stood them up. I chucked a pole over the top of them. I went around and jumped it a few times, it was (almost) higher than Midnight's chest. I got out a few days ago and measured the jump to find it was 1.10m. That's my new PB and probably Midnight's too.

Breed: not real picky. almost any of the sport warmbloods. fjords too though. I love fjords.
Color: bay! Especially bright bay, with white feet and a big blaze.
Height: Also not picky... my favorite horse is about 16hh. However, I've ridden smaller and larger. I prefer horses in the 14-15 hh range.
Names: well... here's some show names of horses I know that I like: Society Girl, Dancing Shoes, Pirendello, Rainy Day, Irish Flair, Heavenly, Captain Epic, Wild Card.

1.What's your favourite breed?

Friesians have always been my dream favorite, but for working I like the basic quarter and paint horses. Always have had a soft spot for the coldbloods.
2.What's your favourite coat colour?
palomino paints and black paints for sure.
3.Do you have any ideal horse height?
I enjoy bigger horses even though I'm super small. Nothing under 13" hands and nothing over 18" hands and everything inbetween is good for me. 16" and 17" hands are more my style.

4.Do you have any ideas for a (registration) name for a Quaterhorse X Percheron (X) thoroughbred? Either going to be black or dark grey with a barn name of either Tambo (male) or Alexia (female). I can give the parents names of needed.

I think getting the parents names would be nice.
Black or dark grey? hmm some names suggestions...
Crossing the Wild Fire
(alexia means the inability to read.) Lost the looking Glass
(Tambo the name means vigorous) Run with the Moon
(Alexia the name means helper) Miss midnight partner
Hot shoes and heart
Smoky blaze of spirit
Burn of the booze

I plan on getting a couple of mini horses in a few months. It's been years since I owned a mini, and can't remember how much they eat. Can someone please tell me how much hay and grain they need a day. I think it was a half a flake and a scoop of grain, but I can't remember.
I'm a dog musher, in the United States. I mostly do sprint but plan on doing a few mid-distance races.

Personally I'd leave the grain off their diet if they are just going to be pasture pets. Generally the thump rule how much hay a horse should eat per day is 1,5-2 kg of dry matter per 100kg of body weight(meaning: 2kg of hay with dry matter of 85%= 1,7kg of dry matter). That's just to keep their gut healthy, if they hay is poor quality you might need to feed more or boost it up with grain, but I believe minis are easy keepers so they'd probably be okay with just hay. Also when you are looking for minis ask if they have any laminitis history, as that needs to be taken into consideration when it comes to feeding.

Well where I work we full the hay bunk to the very top(being that they have 15 miniature horses) and it lasted them for a day and a half, but I would go with what hime said about the hay, and do leave the grain out of the dhey and only have it if they have a foal and it will supply more milk for them(that's what he does) but just a scoop of grain from time to time won't be a bad idea.

Hello all!
I've ridden for several years and I trained with natural horsemanship for a couple years as well, and even helped with hippotherapy, but I haven't been able to work with horses for a while now and it's driving me crazy XD I absolutely adore horses, and I'm really hoping to get one or two in the next several years, after college. In the meantime I'm trying to gain as much knowledge about horses and their care as I can, so if anyone has any tips for preparing to get horses, I'd be very appreciative ^.^
