I'm excited for my event tomorrow but at the same time I'm dreading it; a person I know (she thinks we're friends and is super rude) is going to be there. She goes to my school and used to be my friend. She will want to compare scores (we're doing the same) and make judgments on who's the better rider. She has come up to me before and said "I haven't been riding nearly as long as you and I'm almost as good." She is really rude and other things I shouldn't say, and she really should never of gotten a horse. I'll start to sound rude and obsessed with her if I go on and say everything she does/has done. A few of you would have seen when I wrote about this girl who wanted to break in a horse by just chucking the saddle on- this is the same girl. I wish I never met her and I hope I don't have to see her tomorrow.
Anyway, I'll make sure to let everyone know how we go and I might share my dressage scores with those who are interested. I only recently went up to grade 4 (I wanted to go up A LOT earlier) so I'm kinda nervous. I'll tell you all how it goes tomorrow.

Yay, I got back. We went to (watch) this massive horse event (the man from snowy river bush festival) and it was AMAZING (we go every year). But during the cross country a guy's horse full on smashed into a jump and whacked it's head on the jump. The horse was full on wobbling and looked as if the horse had some sort of concussion. The part that bugged me the most was when the utterly dumb and ignorant rider tried to make the horse continue on. The horse could barely stand. Some people...

don't know if I'm allowed to post on here but anyways..

today was the day of training... my miniature horse (Lavender, a brown horse with white spots) was watching me train my dog, I guess she got a bit jealous and began to run around in circles like my dog was, then I just gave her a carrot for effort

I don't have any photos of the horse competition yet as a friend (a pro photographer) took them and I haven't received them yet. But I rode today and jumped possibly the highest I ever have. Here's the photo and the link to the photo underneath if the pic doesn't work (I don't even know if the link works...) of me jumping on my black quarter horse X paint, Midnight. We bred and broke him in but I've been riding him for around 5 years now. He's my main horse and he's 11 (12 in Oct).

Nothing much going on with my horses. Heta's still huge and not very happy having her insides kicked, but she really doesn't have any signs of being in hurry to foal. She's 5 weeks from her due date now. Weather is getting warmer and some bugs have already been flying around, so now I'm just keeping all fingers and toes crossed I don't need to pull out the itch rugs before she foals.
Tý I'm going to see again this weekend. Hopefully it won't rain/snow this time and I can get some decent pics/video of him. Not to mention he won't look filthy and the ground has had a chance to dry up a little. There's also a show nearby this Sunday, which I might go see if I have time. I'm in cow shed duty this week(inc. weekend), so free time is very limited as we do both the morning and evening shifts. I thought about going to see Heta this weekend as well(I also own L some money from shoings and she asked for it on Sunday), but not sure if I really have time for it as we only have about 6 hours in between shifts if things go as they should during the shift.

Any advice on raising 2 10 month old miniature donkey geldings? I'm a first time donkey owner and I'm saving then from going to slaughter, so I need advice on raising/owning a donkey.

Our mare never looked like she was ready to foal when the time came time. She always went 12 months. Even the day before foaled she still didn't have much milk, the next day she would foal and have loads of milk. If you have to put a rug on her eventually then I would recommend one of those foaling alarms (I forgot what they're called). When the mare lays down the alarm will go off and alert you she is most likely foaling. Then you can go and undo her rug to make it all easier. But it's only a suggestion.

Sorry, I have no experience with donkeys. Good job getting the donkeys before the slaughter house could though.

Has anyone had a coyote attack your horse?
We are trying to figure out what attacked my mare last night and left some smaller claw marks and two bite wounds but we have no big cats around and no running pack of dogs. My mare is on the smaller side (14hh) but still a 900lb horse....
