So many exciting updates!

@Lessons
Lessons have been going really well lately! I've been riding Senator every week for quite some time now and he and I get along very well! We've had a bit of a bigger group in the past couple weeks with H joining the lesson with Ocho, a new trainer, A, with Gabby or Aria, and sometimes another rider just happens to be schooling at the same time and M invites them to join in.

@Showing
2 weeks from today, I will have completed my first schooling show with my new stable! I'm very excited, I have a friend coming to take pictures and hang out with on the day of the show. M checked with Senator's owner and he's fine with me riding him in the show. I think we're doing a novice walk/trot/canter, and 2 2ft novice courses. Not sure if we're being judged on equitation/hunters/jumpers, but I'm guessing probably equitation.

@Exercising
Exercising horses has been great! I rode Gabby yesterday, and with all the time and energy A has put into her, she's definitely acting more like a jumper pony that I would ride. She picks up the canter within the corners without too much of a fuss (she still tosses her head a little) and she feels more adjustable in the canter. I asked her to collect a lot yesterday (due to the fact that the last time I rode her, she just took off) and she listened very well. I was very pleased with it. I've also ridden one schoolhorse, Patrick, who requires spurs but hates crops. His trot feels awful, you just keep your leg on the entire time and it feels very lethargic. His canter is a lot nicer, but apparently it's more difficult for other students to pick it up, so maybe I just have the right touch or something. I've also ridden Ocho, who listens very well and helped me out with learning how to collect a little more when cantering. He requires a small amount of pressure with his bit to help him canter, and I really got to work on collection before cantering. I also rode Callahan, whose trot is wonderful but gets very heavy in the forehand and will pull on you a LOT. He likes to go, too. I sat 2 beats to get on the right diagonal and he picked up the canter without any leg pressure. Callahan is a full body workout.

@Teaching
My lesson has been with me for an entire month, hooray! She's been great, and we've finally gotten our posting rhythm down, so I'll have to start thinking of more stuff to do with her until she moves on to another trot class (hopefully the one on Saturday that I help out with?? fingers crossed). I've already taught her two point, posting, walking, trotting, halting, circles, and two pointing over poles, but I'm sure I can come up with more, especially if she's not on Dottie, who's very responsive to being asked to trot.

@Anyone else
I don't currently see anything that I can really help out with, horse problem wise, but if I see anything, I'll be sure to respond.

NEW HORSE UPDATE!!!!
I have officially adopted a new horse, "Vegas"! he's a 16.1 hh I THINK light bay? with a white blaze on his face. boy, is he one stunning gelding!
as of now, he is the ONLY horse I own. I might look into getting another gelding to keep him company, but i'm not sure yet.

He's an outstanding jumper, though. I love his movement. such a smooth canter!

Edit-
Butch is no longer with us as he had some issues we were not notified of by the previous owner that are just too much for us to handle at the moment.
He was gladly taken in by my riding instructor and is definitely in a better home since she has more time to dedicate to him (I have a lot of schoolwork that i'm catching up on and I just didn't have the time to take care of all of Butch's health issues.)

@ Nocte Luna: It's so great to hear that everything's going so well! Well done on Senator!

@RunningRace: I'm so excited for you! I remember how excited I was to start my first lease. I hope Sugar teaches you as much as Automachine taught me.

On that note, who was everyone's first leased horse (or owned horse, if you bought straight away)?

Mine was old Auto:
Face <3 A twenty year-old thoroughbred mare brought out of retirement to help me get my confidence back. She bucked me off more times than I care to recount, but boy did she look after me when we were jumping.

@Hime: Ty is looking ADORABLE, So much floof! I'm sure his back will sort itself out. It's normal for foals to be a little croup-high every now and again while they grow ^^

@Amy Pond: I'm sorry that you have to say goodbye to Donny so soon. It sounds like you are making a really good choice for him. The warmblood sounds fantastic. Enjoy her!

So yesterday Baby turned a month old. And what a month is has been. Two days after Baby's birth, my coach got very sick. She couldn't handle a foal (or get out of bed), and so asked me if I would do it. What was I going to say? No?

So the first week of Baby's life looked like this.
Mom's been superb about it all. Incredibly laid-back, but an attentive mother. At a month old, Baby (now named Sitara) stands above my belly button. Coach and I had a long and drawn-out battle over that name. She was teasing me about calling her Breadcrumb (which I was NOT having) and said Sitara was 'too fancy'. I won out in the end XD She looks for me when I whistle, and is wonderfully friendly with everyone she meets. I've really hit it off with this little horse, and my coach has TENTATIVELY suggested that she is for sale. So it's time for Dana to start saving up. It's time for my first horse gdi XD and I want it to be her.

First Lease:
I got my first lease when I was 4 and was starting out riding Western. I was so happy to see that gorgeous Welsh pony ouo
He was a black welsh pony gelding names "Tortie". Boy was he a good pony! I miss him to death though, he taught me pretty much everything I know about western riding (even though I ride English now)

I ride! :)
We own 7 horses at the moment. Classy, Finnick, Star, Storm, Dreamer, Spirit, and Showstopper. I just got Finnick three months ago. He's a 4 y/o 17hh dapple grey OTTB. Storm is a grey mini. All of the others are Rocky Mountain's! I've been around horses my whole life and been riding for 9 years. I'm an eventer! Finnick is obviously very green because he just come off the track four months ago haha, so he's been a struggle so far but has tons of potential! :)

Wow so much writen here, and new People and info
i really have not much time and could not go on Long time...
so sorry when i should have writen an answer....please tell me when i over looked something^^

....
To my Girl...i think she slowly does bether, we where out on the trail Walking for some mins, now the second time, as she started to walk bether again and ground was not slippery or iced over...and she even did two or so trot stepps in the snow^^(that was a big happy moment)...and walked fast today at some point on the soft grass or other not so stony ground and on the way back...so i really think we are on the way again...and she can go healthy and without hurting in the pasture season when grass is high enough...
i so hope i see her troting and galopping around soon^^

...

@ Hime:
Ty looks nice...very cute and fluffy ,cant wait to see how he looks in summer fur, and at the show^^
How is Heta, Baby still nice to its mom or again on the wrong place?

how goes the riding and the School?

and did you find other Mineral feed or started to give grain? Maybe have a look in Senior horse feed...there are some with alga and herb-grass cut its, without sugar-molasse? we did try two...one we had last, the horse did hate but the first looked and smelled really nice and the two old Girls did love it...and the prize was not bad.

Hope car is well again, and that you had not more snow.

@ Amberle & Will:

here are two or when im right three People with donkey maybe they can help you with your problem :D

thats not easy to give help with not enough info....
Like how old is the animal, gender, a large or small donkey...
maybe what is the Problem, when did it start and how, how much does the donkey fight...or is it only the donkey being heavy on the Hand Holding the leg up...or plain fighting with hoof and teeth?
together with other donkey or horses, handled every day since birth or half wild on the pasture with only checking in in the health once every day...
who does it fight...the farrier, you, the owner, some one else that takes care of them ...one more than an other Person?

but maybe like with horses, step for step, not getting angry, sometimes going back some steps; ist as if you Train a foal for his first hoofcare....
stroking the back down to the leg till it stands calm, then touching at the hoof...some give the hoof...treats and prais is a must do....and when it only gives the hoof for a short Moment...hoof up and when its only a little bit of the ground and down again...the time of the hoof up, will be longer with time...you must be fast to react and has to be the one putting te hoof down if not it learn its stronger and you have the same Problem again^^

when its real fighting....then you need to be careful and need lots of time...at the beginning you can only go till the Point where its relaxed....you will see when its ready for more, with some it can takes days other month...and a rope Training can help too... you touch the animal all over the Body with a soft sturdy Long rope, when its calm you can touch it on all legs...when still calm you could try to lie the rop open around one leg when no fight you could try to pull up the leg a bit nd let it down asap...till one day the leg is up for longer time and maybe even hoof care.....the animal is not touched by Hand and can stay more calm....
some are more calm with this...but it all depends on how it fights and why....and how good you know the animal...

or board of light Wood placed on the ground and putting the hoof on it ....you add one board after the other with time...not to fast...till one hoof is 10-20cm from the ground...they learn to stand with one hoof up...its a nice soft Training....you also could Train it to put the hoof up on it on its own...you do this with all hoofs
you can try it with one board more each day or every two day...but really not to fast.

not sure if an of this helps....eeach animal is different and aslong as you dont know the animal or see the Problem live or on a video its not easy to say what helps....so please stay careful and work with help....maybe your farrier has a good idea.
tell how it does go :)
Please klick them or they will die°°!!!

@first lease

My first time leasing will actually be this summer. I'm hoping to lease a pony named Rainman. He's 6 or 7, and bay.
Really responsive and fun to ride, yet still a bit green.
Looking forward to being able to do ground work, as I just take lessons right now and don't get to train at all. :)
