X is dead center, directly between points B and E. The Ring in Hime's image is a small dressage ring, that's mis-marked (in smaller dressage rings, the points R, P, S, V, I, and L are normally excluded), but the move is as pictured. Just imagine the same move performed in the center of the ring. :]

I love horses :D. Unfortunately, I don't live anywhere near a horse riding ranch or anything of the sort. I once went to a ranch about two hours away from my home and rode horses there. I rode a horse called Amigo Breeze and brushed one called Candy. Thats about the only time, apart from birthday parties when I was little and things like that.

Thank you Amigo for giving me such a good first experience with horses :)

Hey OK so my are a few days ago my horse did something not to bright.i put her in the round pen to roll and chill out while I mucked her stall and she decided to run with all the mud she slipped and slid into the panels of the pen. Her back legs went through the panels she laid down for a little bit then got up legs still in the bars and tried to run again she kicked after maybe two steps trying to get her feet on the right side. Ever since she has been really sore I've done cool wrapping and put liniment on her legs but I'm scared she broke her foot an I can't afford x rays to tell if she really did. She is my barrel mare and she is half blind. She will still gallop if I put he in the field. She did today. But when I brought her in she was limping like my friends horse who broke her front foot Last; summer. Just having a stressful time an any other tips on how to keep her comfortable until I have enough money to bring in vet for x rays if she does not get better in a few days with the treatment I'm giving her?

Sorry to hime that i still did not answered you, but im a bit to stressed and hurt in the Moment from this stupid fall, but i will answer you later, i really try ...hope the meds will help till then:oops:

I have to answer this!
Im sorry that your mare did hurt herself like this.....and im sorry that you have Trouble with the Money, but when your vet is only a Little bit an animal Lover he will help you, they will let you pay the vet bill in parts. :!: you only have to kall him now....if not im not sure if you will have the mare in healthy shape any longer....she may have broken bot only her legs partly but it could be that she broken something else, or pulled some muscles in the leg or back that without fastes Treatment and absolutely stall rest can go very very bad.....you did say she runs around...thats dangerous ...most horses are stupid like this and run even hhile they hurt and make it worse, Keep her in the stall with a friend and call the vet as soon as you wake up! mostly they can be talked with, so tell him the problem :!: :!:

And when it sounds mean im sorry, but you like the horse, you still want to ride her? or is she only one of many working horses...then call the vet to put her down or let her be till nature does the rest....(sorry for that but this is life, im also low on Money but i always have a little extra on the side for this and a nice vet who lets me pay partly....and i would never let the stupid Girl of mine out after a fall like this for some day and when she hurts and walks unsound....they are not stupid but when it Comes to hurt they make it bad when they get the Chance to run in a field....so why did you let her out when you have a stall...now im stressed out more ....)
when you love her then do something like calling a vet when your horse was in a Panel after a fall and hurts!! you go to?

- cool the parts that hurt, put a light blanket on to Keep her from cooling of to much from shock and hurt, give her only hay, put alot straw in her stall to Keep ground soft when she lies down and so much that it also does not Slips when she stands up, there are some ointment that you can also put on to pull out infections and cool the lect but i forgot it in the Moment....best ask vet...
the rest can only tell you the vet, or later the chiro when she only pulled something. also when something is broken she can heal nicely and is running around after the right Treatment and therapy like bevor^^

Good luck and i really hope that she will be healthy in no time.
Please tell us what did happen and how it did gone

Thanks guys for pointing that out. I'm not overly familar with dressage ring lettering and I think most of our lower level test are for 20x40 ring, hence assumed things and used small ring as base. My bad. ^^;

@My_name_is-: Vet, that's what your horse needs, especially if you suspect the leg is broken(for humans it's 3-4 days that a broken bone must be set/operated, before it starts to fuse). Usually if a leg is broken, I don't think a horse would bare much weight on it, so if your mare is capable of running around it's likely not broken, at least not very badly. She may have injured her leg, but she may have also injured her back in the fall or have soft tissue injuries. Back injuries/issues can show up as lameness. Seriously, at least give your vet a call and see what they think. You might also be able to talk a payment deal with the vet, so you can either have some time to pay the bill or pay it in smaller portions.
But until you call the vet, stable rest(if she can't stay calm in paddock/round pen) and short in hand walks at most, so that what ever injury she might have doesn't go worse. If there's swelling on the legs, then cold treatment for them, but if there's no heat/swelling I wouldn't do anything as that commonly means there's nothing majorly wrong there.
And for future notice, insurance is nice thing when you have tad unstable financial situation.

@Luzien: It's cool, take all the time you need. c:

OK so I've had her vetted and now we found no broken bones he said its mostly muscle bruising and a pulled ligament the swelling is gone with the cold rinsing. And the liniment is helping take away pain and make it easier for her to walk on it. She has been set on Strict stall rest. :) so glad nothing really bad has happened she will be better in a few weeks.

Hey, SkyHusky! What breed did you get? :)

-------------------------------------
I love snow, but it's no good for riding. Rusty and I went out yesterday and I knew he didn't like it. A really big field, the only one cleared at EFS, is mostly mud. I went out anyway, other than Inca, my dad's horse, we were the only ones out there. I totally regret it because Rusty isn't accustomed to slush so I thought of something when I took him up to the stables.
There's an old army battle ground near our property owned by a trainer who has learned the art of riding in mucky war zones down through his generation.
He's so nice, I signed up and now it's a week until I hear back. Omg, I can't wait.

sorry i haven't posted in forever, i fractured my ankle so i couldn't ride :p

gracie's eye got worse, so i think the last option (besides taking her eye out completely) is to put her down...i'm so torn!
on the bright side, gracie has been wonderful even not being ridden in like, forever. she doesn't even buck the weirdo! i round pen her a lot, and work on the ground with her tricks (spinning, following, bowing and working on cantering around me with nothing).

and another bright side, i might get another horse. but, my budget is $5000 max. i'm trying to find a horse over 15.2/15.3 atleast, and a show horse (possibly dressage, but i'm hoping for a jumper!). it's amazing how expensive horses are now. one 16 hand WB was $25,000!
