@ Hime: not much bruises to see...but...now im the second day in the clinic after i was home a day as they did not see anything at first, but then they called and told i have to come again for a bether control in mrt , and they found out that the i hope im not wron now the third and fourth lumbar vertebrae is partly broken but not so bad that i Need a op or so, only "nearly" strict bed rest for 10days in the clinic and then corset and reab for 8 to 15 weeks,and after this rehab without.....wahhhhhhh...why...i was so good with my and my Girls traiing and wanted to start in a short endurance ride in Training for an Long and now i cant ride for 1/4 to 1/2 or longer year...i may Need to look for a peeson who atleast goes each day for an hour walk with her and does groundwork with her as i do not let somebody else ride my Baby Girl... :roll: :?
enough of this rant...

yes Ponys and more so the icelandics go hyper when its colder and in spring...and dont me get autumn when the insects are less....summer they walk as if they will hit the ground but let it go a bit cooler...bamm they are full power...more so without rider :roll: :lol:

She is relaxed with forest machine^^ thats funny, but let them see some plastic and they jump,,,
i had to laugh so much about this Heta hides her fattyness :lol: but nice that she put on some on her back^^

ahh...the rug is seperate...but it look nice together^^ maybe put some velcro fastener or leather stripes with one side metalic loopes on it...not sure if this is easyer them sewing it on?

Cant wait till march or April when you go there and bring back new pics, to see how cute and crown up he is now^^

Thats great that your shoulder does now pretty good, and the pain will also grow less and less in the next weeks or months!
hmm maybe the physio would be really bether or some thing like it, so that it stops hurting at all...maybe horse therapeutic riding :mrgreen:

I also did not get any new Messages, but maybe they did mean at the end of the month?
i still try to look for a Caravan to get placed there or the friend of our Family who wanted to go there with his woman may let me get a place with them...have to see how fast i get fit now to make arangements...so that i may pull awy when i cant go.
wow the rent of the car is high! i understand you fully that you want to Keep the coasts at minimum!

Really only 7 ...maybe there will be more later,some may still think about it or dont want to go alone, maybe put up a Flyer at your stable?
we will see how it goes, when we where from the same area i would say lets travel together, but its not, but you will find somebody, and when not its still fun to go alone as you did say.^^

Then have fun with your fattiness hiding Pony, and ride a bit for me for the next time^^

Hey everyone! How's it been?

I've got my first 2 shows of the semester this weekend! I'm super excited and nervous all at once! I need 12 points in 3 shows to be able to show in Regionals. My instructor from home, who rides IHSA alumni, really wants me to get to regionals and I'm hoping so too! It's gonna be difficult, but I've been riding all of winter break and since I've gotten back to school. I just have to watch my position when down transitioning. Today's my lesson and then we're driving 3 hours to Ohio for this show tomorrow morning, ugh. Leaving my campus at 4 am D: The things we do for IHSA shows. But I'm hoping that all goes well and I got a whole bunch of new show clothes from the holidays, including a Charles Owen ayr8 which I'm super excited to start wearing :D
Wish me luck! I'll update everyone when I get back!!

Should've posted earlier, but I'm terribly bad at life .-.
@Enchanted - Always remember the happy moments with Sky, it gets you through the day, my old man passed over 6 years ago (wow, I've been riding Shorty that long...) & it always helped me to dwell on good times.

@Luzien - Does your girl do good with close proximity to other horses/good manners overall? If the person you asked had a seasoned horse & the knowledge, they could pony her along if they went on a trail ride or a walk about. It would keep her fit, expose her to new things, but they wouldn't have to ride her :3

~~~~
I always wish could offer a more interesting/exciting little update, but nothing interesting ever happens. Dropped down to -17F, probably more with windchill, I'm so tired of winter >.< Need to get the farrier out, but either its too cold or something comes up that it doesn't work for either of us.
Tuesday night I caught Shorty & tried to teach her how to roll a barrel, didn't quite work. I got her placed in front of it & tried to convince her to step into it, but she swerved a bit to the side at the end, after that I led her along & started kicking the barrel to where it was just in front of her. Being the silly thing that she is she didn't terribly care but did try to nose it forward a time or two.
Looking for: any date
@Luzien- I'm going to try to get some pictures this weekend! It's my friend's last show weekend with me, she's transferring schools :(
But I really want to see if she can get a video for me, I've been working really at fixing my canter seat since I finally strengthened my legs to where they should be. Everything is coming along, so I hope that it goes well. This is only my second show in the Advanced w/t/c class, and I placed 3rd in my first Advanced class, so I'm hoping it goes well :D
@Shorty- ....how do you deal with -17!?!?! I can barely handle single digits with a negative wind chill! lol, if I tried to teach one of our barn's horses to roll a barrel, they would freak out like it's the scariest thing to ever exist! But they'll throw traffic cones at each other like it's no big deal -_-
Also, I love your little avatar, it's super cute :3
Re: Do You Ride Horses? V.4
Postby ξƞçɧαƞtєđ » Sat Feb 28, 2015 3:16 am
Thank you to everyone for your condolences. I've been taking every day at a time and that is about as best as I can do for right. I still cry when I think about all the good times as I know we won't ever have another good time to add onto the list, but hopefully it'll get better...I'm hoping it will.
Luzien: I'm sorry to hear about your fall...and to be sent to the hospital is something that scares me even more. But what feels cold to us feels good to them, since most horses are either warm or hot-blooded. She may have just been feeling extra good and wanted to get going and was on high alert for any excuse to get moving. But the kids may have also caused it- hense why I'm not much into having a group of kids around any horse I'm riding. I understand they don't know any better, but when you continue to have to tell them not to run underneath the horse, don't run behind the horse, don't shout at the horse...it gets old and that is why I'm not a huge fan. 8 years old and up...I can kind of handle. Anything lower, and I'd prefer their parents be there to discipline them. Hopefully you get better soon.
And as for the donkey information and links, it did help. I've linked it down to boredom and hopefully today, Willy can go out and play with his sister in the lower pasture as yesterday I led him around the front yard and he did wonderful, except for going into Willow's stall afterwards and refusing to leave (had to bribe him with a cookie) but he did really well. ;)
Hime: I'm glad to hear your ponies are doing well...but as for Heta's weight, have you tried leading her up and down hills (at a fast walk or a trot [tolt in your case])? I did that with my Skyman to build up muscle in his croup and stifles when he was to a healthy weight to do that, but it also burns calories and is a good exercise for both your fluffy pony and you as it'll build core and leg muscles in you too. It's a 'kill two birds with one stone' type of thing. You only need to do it about 10-15min a day when you get into it, but start out with just one or two trips up and down a incline to build both of yours stamina. It does work. ;)
Today is a big day for Willy as he'll be let out of his stall and into the pasture for the first time since he arrived. I'm hoping all goes well and that Willow doesn't bully him a lot. But they seem to accept each other through the fence and gate so hopefully they've already established who's in charge and who's leading who where when they feel like racing. Today will be a big grooming day too and I might try and clean out Willy's hooves if he lets me as he's gotten used to getting them picked up.
On another note...it seems I'll be looking for a new horse after all (that is a weird sentence...even to type). My drill team will be picking up soon but nobody there seems to have a horse for me to borrow. My coach said she'd let me use her TWH, but after a few weeks of riding out on that hope, she suddenly changed her mind. So then I went to ask a few drill members who had offered up their horses to let me use- and they all of a sudden had no way to trailer them or they all of a sudden forgot they had offered in the first place. -_- But they were all just "so so so sorry for my loss" but they assured me I'd find a replacement for him soon (There is absolutely NO replacing him...I can't believe they even thought to say that to my face)...I'm tired of helping people out, keeping promises, giving advice and letting people borrow my things when they ask only to be shoved to the side when I ask a favor of them. I'm starting to think dependable people are just a myth now.
But as for the horse search, I put a few adds on facebook. I've got two horses to look at on March the 7th- one is a Spotted Saddle Horse (Sky's breed) and the other was a Spotted Saddle Horse X TWH. Both are geldings, trail broke, road-safe, and semi-tall (not as tall as Sky, but they aren't ponies). One is named Dallas (Don't know his show name) but he's a 16hh 8-9 year old dun tobiano gelding. He's a walker, not a racker like Sky was, but his videos seem to show he's a smooth ride but he hasn't been ridden in a month or so. I'll hopefully go try him out with one of my saddles to see if they fit. That same day I'll be going to check out another horse by the name of Mark (Don't remember his show name either) and he's a chestnut tobiano 15.1hh gelding who hasn't been ridden in a while either- hense why they both are in our price range. He is 9 years old and a prior mountain trail horse that will climb anything and go anywhere you point him in. And I'll hopefully be able to visit their friend who owns a high-end TNWH breeding farm that produces champions...definitely can't afford their horses but visiting a high-scale champion producing horse farm has been a dream of mine since I was little. Hopefully the weather holds out for next weekend then and all goes well. If they don't work out, I'll hopefully go see a black TNWH gelding later on in the month and a black tobiano gelding too. I'm not quite sure about any of them, as none are even close to being equal to my Skyman...but I don't want to give up drill team either and my parents continue to remind me that it looks good on college applications. So hopefully one of those boys work out...
    hi eveyone
    was at the stables today after school and it wasnt until the end that i was told that one of the horses had been put down. You guys may think im stupid but I thought she was at the physio or having x-rays taken or something. She had been lame for a while but she was young and healthy so everyone thought she'd be ok. Apparently she had a problem in her shoulder that had been there for ages.
    We got her when she was thin and so malnourished that we couldnt tell she was very pregnant. As in she had her foal days after we got her pregnant. This was years ago, her foal was sent away to be brought up ect once he was weaned (hes 2 now) and she had been working as a therapy horse. Then she suddenly went lame and was on box rest. She was getting better? she'd go galloping around her field when she was allowed out (she was on bute) and she was looking good.
    then the xray results came back and there was nothing we could do.
    Try to remember Bluebell when you next see your horses. She was only nine.
    It feels so unfair that she was put to sleep and my pony, whos 21 is still going.
    Sort of a follow up to the recent posts of above. never take anything for granted </3
    On a different note, I have ordered up a couple of numnahs for my own pony. Hopefully they will fit.
So Hugo and I will be doing our first Eventing day out (horse trials in australia) and we are doing grade 4 tests and sj and xc... the test was easy for me, I had a sick day and learnt it and then the next day did it on my horse, but im more worried about the cross country, Hugo jumps tires and weird solid looking stuff, but I think I may cause him to refuse or something, which I would be annoyed at myself for...
Any tips for keeping calm?
Hugo is totally a chill pill, and jumps anything you ask him too, but I've never been nervous as ive never competed on him... I have pony club this sunday, so ill try to jump the picnic table which is the only jump I havent done because it freaks mw out, but knowing now my little zoompony can jump 1.10m without hesitation and clears it im sure I can jump him something like that...
Edit: I have pony club tomorrow and I always wash hugo and rug with a light cotton rug and neckrug.. its night now and its started to rain.. though its nearly 30 degrees heat where I live so my question is: will the rug get saturated and my horse soaked? :(
you know the curse and how to jump and our Pony jumps anything as you say, so dont worry, walk the curse with your Trainer one day bevor the ent and shortly bevor.
Good luck :D
to the washing...you rug him still wet :shock:
you Need to handrub him try with straw or what ever till the coat is dry and shiny, then put on a light warm blanket and after an hour or so in his stall put an other on for the night. When ist raining maybe a rain blanket .
I dont have a trainer XD I teach myself, our pony club is sort od pathetic at organizing things so I go with two older members who do grade 1 eventing (highest grade) and they sort of teach me more haha..
Turns out he wasnt even wet under the rug haha! Luckily.
Where I live Hugos across the road from me most of the time in a paddock, and where I live nobody stables horses :3
