It all depends...you dont own or lease...but do you want to lease? when not it all depends on the horse owner-stable owner who gives you a horse to ride.
When you are a good rider and you know the horse, the owner may let you try something new, like.... do trail ride, endurance-distance, western games, maybe find a stable where you can work with a horse on the cows(bringing them in from te pasture and so...)- other horse games( from the ground and from the horse(there are so many fun ways to work with a horse, it only depends what the owner wants how good you ride-how fast you can learn.....and so on)-) , maybe even small jumping, ....or ask the Trainer you did ride with if you could do some new lessons in western, maybe western dressage...
Good luck, and write how it goes and works out with your riding

I would lease, I just don't have the funds to do so yet.
My last trainer let me do some that stuff, I think I want to try western pleasure
Or something along the lines of that. I don't like barrels much but pole bending was always fun.
Thanks guys I will let you know how it goes
I do have good balence and can ride with mostly just my seat becuase my
Last trainers horses were mostly seat ridden. I think I'm a good rider lol not great but just good

Guys. I can't even right now. So my trainer said I had a great lesson, which is awesome! Kiko was fresh, but I wasn't scared of the corners even when she got fresh for her changes. It was really good! I felt a lot better about myself!

Then my trainer asked me to start hacking around my baby boy for her!!! This horse and I are so close! He is such a good boy and the girl who usually rides him needs spurs and a large crop, and she still has problems. Well, I rode him without spurs and with a tiny crop and he was so good! Another girl said she's never seen him go as well as he was! It was perfect.

And this guy was there watching me ride. He wants to PAY me to ride his horse!!! I said he has to go through my trainer, but he really wanted to pay me! It's so funny because my school day Friday was horrible. But then I go to the barn and all of this good happened. I couldn't be more excited.

Who ever knows what vaulting is * high five *

I started in August and so it's been a couple months I wish I had my own horse but the stable has the sweetest mares and stallions ,my favourite is Ferrari he is the most sweetest gental horse ever he was the first one I "rode".

Vaulting is like gymnastics on horse back , it's really fun but dangerous.

Thats really great...do you go to Show later or want to become a pro?
i did try it once but i think it was not my way of horse work, and i was already to old with i think 13 and not so strong in the arms...most Kids there where 6-12 at this day and had some Training already:lol:

But its nice to look at and also hard work, hope we read and see more of you here:)

You will I promise , there are a lot of kids vaulting now a days , it's also hard work you have to be really flexible. It's becoming really popular lately there are new people almost every two weeks. Well I'm close to 16 it very hard and time consuming especially with homework.

I did think about competing but you have to be on team and I missed those tryouts, there is always next year ..

Every week I get to my lessons at4:30 but I get at the stable at 3:30 to work with the horses and to muck out stalls
But thickening up Wednesday I get to ride !!!! I'm so excited it will be my first time and were tainting a horse so its
Really exciting.

But for vaulting we have been working on free styles which is a bunch of different move like 8 to 10.

But I really love it !!!:)

So I was at a group beginner lesson today (interning there) and one of the questions asked was 'who is your equestrian rolemodel?' One person said Sharbattly and I nearly puked. Why can't kids actually do research and discover that the "horseman" they love abused and doped his horses. Heck, I don't like very many of the big name riders but this guy always left a bad taste in my mouth x-x
The new Percheron fella, Thorin, was a very good boy today considering he had to put up with someone with noodle arms ;w; he got lots of pettins and a peppermint

Wow, when was the last time I posted again? ^^'

@HorseLover!: Pictures of the bonnet when it's done, pretty please? No clue what sort of fabric would be good though... Have never actually handled a bonnet in my life. o_o But something relatively thin(like cotton), unless you want a sound blocking one.

@Luzien: They mostly get breathing issues, like really heavy breathing and then caughing of course. Just staying inside can make them have some symptoms, especially if the hay isn't watered. Which sucks as 2 of the 3 dust sensitive have summer itch and stay inside a lot in summer(if outside they start stressing and running in the evening if not brought inside). :c Though now they have nice shelter outside, so maybe it's enough for the summer... Straw doesn't seem to be an issue, at least not when used outdoors in their shelter. Though must say, they straw L got is not very dusty, so that's a plus. ^^

I've also noticed horses are super smart when it comes to ice. Like Heta trusts me relatively well not to bring her on ground that is dangerous, but she also kinda tells me if the ground doesn't feel too good. Though sometimes when there's ice and water under it she tries to break it with her teeth, given the chance, in hopes of getting a drink. I know one horse is super good at telling when lake's ice is thick enough to ride on.
lol I have the same issue when it comes to thinking how long I've ridden. So I was super glad when L got a clock on the arena.

@Vintage: Well, honestly nervous+nervous combo is pretty bad starting point... But seeing you've already jumped him a little, it's probably not as big issue as the previous owner made you believe. If he and you have no confidence, then you need to build it. :) Slow and steady. If you haven't ridden in long time, then you'd probably want to focus on general flat work stuff before getting back to jumping. When you do feel like starting to jump, keep jumping just 50cm or less 'till you are dying to jump 60cm. I might suggest free jumping your horse, as that way you don't have to worry about your influence so much and also he can figure things out himself and gain confidence. Of course start low and go up as he get's hang of things.

@Icelandic WC in Herning: Ooooh, I so so so so so would like to go to Herning. :D I'm actually seriously considering should I join as a volunteer as it would be cheaper and probably only way to attend(though mom said she'd pay the flights at least). Then there's the fact this year's show is organized by the Nordic coutries, so I feel slight obligation to go volunteer. But I'm also nervous about going alone, as I've never ever been aboard alone. :? I'm sort of trying to see if anyone else would be going from here, so I could possibly tag along and we could maybe save some money by splitting the cost(like if we'd rent a car or housing).

So riding everyother day seems to be okay with the arm and it's been hurting little less I think. Except when Thursday, I lifted it somehow weird at home and it suddenly hurt really bad. :/ Then rest of the evening it would suddenly hurt for bit and then get better. Not the bone either, just shoulder joint or shoulder area muscle vise. Weird and stupid as Friday the weather was great(sunny), but it didn't feel good enough to ride.
Thursday I took a trail ride, which went pretty nice, though the ground was bit bad... Like weirdly at some parts where there's no water going there seemed to be hollow ice. So that was bit odd and even Heta was looking at her feet more than usual as the ice creaked little under her. I kinda hope it would cool down little more so the hollow ice area's would actually be more solid as now one of our main routes is so and so if it's rideable. : P Like if your horse is very unsure about ice and spooks if it's foot goes through, then it's not smart to go there. Never the less Heta seemed to like the trail ride and was snorting a lot and not sluggish at all. ^^ Though the brakes could have worked little better. And for some freaking reason I don't sit nice when out on trails, or then Heta is just so much bouncier out on trails as she's more speedier. >_< Oh and the weather was kinda what I'd call Iceland weather, really windy and snowed, but not very cold.

Rode today as well, since I skipped yesterday. Arena is now very nice and it's been snowing again so that's even better. Though it's barely below 0, so we'll see how it turns out. : P So arena day, worked on the brakes, with looooots of transitions. Honestly walk-halt goes pretty well, but then tolt-halt is not so good and more I let Heta tolt in between halts, the harder it is to stop her nicely and fast. Like she's leaning some and not giving. Blaah, switching to the other 3-piece for while again. Since last time we had this issue it helped some. Other than that, she was pretty nice in tolt. I think we actually got some cleaner steps once and actually some trotty tolt(which is sort of bad, but any differance to the usual pacey tolt is good imo). :) After all that tolt work I let her canter some and oh my my. Amazing. Simple as that. Right at least. Left was not bad and we got correct lead I think, but still room for improvement. I also tried out some walk-canter transitions to right and they went really well(no trot/tolt steps). Very proud of my pony. <3 Pony seemed quite happy too, though bit tired maybe.
She has also already lost little weight as the girth went one hole tighter. :)

And we've also got couple new boarders in short time, I don't think I've mentioned. Two geldings last year(one new person, one just brought her 3rd horse to the same stable as her other 2). Newest additions arrived yesterday. 2 mares, who went to the same paddock as Heta and the others. L said things were peacefull and the two mares seems very nice, even if they aren't Icelandics. The best part of the mares is that their owner, who massages horses, and dogs. ;D The mares came to say hi to me today when I went to get Heta. Sweet things I think, but Heta doesn't seem to like them much. lol Actually when I took her back to the paddock, after little while one of the fillies came to bug her and the other filly and the big girls were standing nearby. Then Heta got fed up with the one filly and tried to run away from her, which of course got rest 3 run after her. XD She escaped them and looked soooo grumpy at the hay bale, with fillies in tow sadly. I think the fillies have been hanging on her rug with their teeth, as there's one part missing and other is hanging loose... So I have some rug patching to do. : P
And it's actually really snowing now, so yay! :D
Can we pretend that the airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?
I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now...

Pony face wasnt happy with the fact he had to wear something on his head and have a new headcollar...but dang does he look cute!

############################################################################################################

Soo, tomorrow i'm going for a hack with Copper. I'm going to my old farm but I feel kinda snobish because im only going because my friend told me I would never get anywhere with a horse so i'm kinda going to show her that I can, but anyway aha. So going for a hack with Nikki and her new mare, hopefully everything will go well and I won't fall off like last time, I'm hoping he reacts well to a completly new farm with new horses and cows because he has never been elsewhere nor down the road we are walking.

The only issue is theres a little bit of a bling corner and i'm scared about our safety, any tips on keeping safe on the corner, there are no other roads unless I wanna walk down a main road (like a main highway for you guys) but I really wanna go to my old farm and show off grumpy pony face!

Also- I have had copper for almost a year...but we havn't shown and i'm starting to feel like i'm not as good as I thought because of the fact everyone else is showing but i'm not? Do you think Copper and I should just show when we are both a little unfit or wait until the summer a little more and show when we are completly fit and such :)

Found this on fuglyhorses and I'm curious: do y'all think this horse can even run with that hind end? Those post legs and well everything else just screams unhealthy. I can't find a single picture or video of this poor stallion moving and honestly I want to know what it'd look like compared to say... Good ol' Gunner

Aww poor thing, but yes, that is sadly a trend from what i hear, where more and more horses of the Show circle look like this or more bad...where you can be sure if this is a horse or a cow on steroids and other medication....and even foal look like this.
They dont run, they dont Need to...they only Need to look like sumo's with muscle... wobble trough the Show Arena and wobble out again to there stall.
I once did see a so called top breeding stallion on a pic and a YouTube clip who had an ass like a mix between cow and elephant...and the Body did not look good also....very sad to see this but with a tiny head.
Please klick them or they will die°°!!!

I've moved to the other end of my country now so I've sold my horse to another family.
Plus, I've stopped riding for now due to a leg injury and I doubt that I'll ride in shows again.
I still love horses, but I wont be doing all that competition and stuff now.
I'll still ride, but only for fun and casual stuff now, no more competing.
Its like my whole world has fallen apart without horses in my life.

Anyways, here's a pic of a new filly at the stable I used to go to. I think she's a Hanoverian, but not exactly sure. Any ideas?

@Totakeke
I get a little prickly when people start talking about the halter division of QHs. THOSE poor beasts are intentionally breed to look like that, their even trained & if I remember right, fed to add even more useless muscle bulk. I think I've read somewhere that a lot of them aren't ridable, seems silly since that's what most people like to be able to do with their horses. I get prickly about them because some people seem to think that's what real QHs look like, that's untrue though, real quarters can actually do things. While the breed norm is to have large e.i. powerful hindquarters & good muscle in general, the halters are in my opinion, grotesquely shaped & muscled. I'm sure everyone has their opinions on halter style horses, I personally wish they hadn't become popular >.<

Off my high horse about halters now... I really wanted to ride a week ago when it was 45 F out, but the 'arena' would've been slippery & the yard was either a slogging mud pit or a sheet of ice, it might've been fine in the pastures, but again no way of knowing if someplaces would be slick or squishy & soggy.

Looking for: any date

where the trail meets the sky,
and live like you ain't afraid to die. And don't be scared,
