Andalusians~<3
My boy is part Andalusian, but unfortunately is one of those grays that can't go an hour without plastering himself in mud. He still manages to look gorgeous though. xD One of the few horses in my barn that still gets compliments despite being brown in the winter.
-shameless Andie love-<3
The best way I know of getting used to a new horse is just to spend time with him/her and learn the little quirks both in and out of the saddle. The better you know them, the more comfortable you'll be with them. :)

So, my friend's 3-year-old and the other friend that's been training her had quite a bit of excitement today. And not the good kind. :(
J took Baby out for a ride and everything was going great until Baby spooked. Normally, this isn't a problem, J has always had high-strung horses and spooking usually isn't a huge deal for her, but unfortunately, Baby is quite round right now. The saddle slipped around to her side/belly, which scared her even more and she bolted, dumping J pretty hard in the dirt.
Baby ran a few laps around the ring, but then decided to jump the 4' fence and head for the trees. She would have made it too if the saddle hadn't been on her belly. It caught the fence and poor Baby flipped, landing on her side/hip, breaking the girth (and possibly the saddle). She was really shaken up after that and wouldn't let the girl chasing her catch her so I went to go help (Baby trusts very few people) and she did let me catch her.
Baby has a pretty large, nasty abrasion on her left foreleg and will probably be very sore for a while. J has a concussion and messed up her hip. She's glad she was wearing her helmet. It'll have to be replaced now, but with how hard she hit, she would have been much worse off without it.
On a lighter note, one of my friends finally got the chance to try Granix today. She's been wanting to since I bought him, but she hasn't had the time (she lives 45 minutes away and normally rides at a different barn). Apparently, she wants to steal him from me now. xD He was a little sassy, but she rides a super sassy little mare, so she just laughed whenever the sass came out, haha.
