I don't find that an issue since all guineas pee and poo in their beds, I have a fully fleece cage and I change out beds and peepads at least 3-4 times a week to keep everything dry. These items I made are washing machine safe.

But like you clean them in your washing machine with pooh and etc on them just saying a little...unsanitary?
Sorry I just don't get how people use fleece fpor g-pigs flooring sounds frankly a little gross 0.0

I'm confused how you would find it dirty. Would you trash a child's clothing is they wet them self? Soap, vinegar and water can go a long way. Plus, I save a LOT on money with fleece. And to make it clear in case there is confusion, I don't toss the poo in the wash. All the droppings are ether swept up and trashed, or shaken out into the trash outside.

Here, this is an idea on how fleece works.

Image
The fleece stays dry on top and the pee will go to the 2ed layer with can be a towel or pee-pads.

I've been wanting to try fleece with my pigs, and maybe even my rats but I've trie putting a layer of newspaper under their bedding before and they use to dig through their bedding and pull the sheet out whenever I did it.

For rats, it needs to be clipped down (binder clips works great!)

My gorgeous little Kaisa crosssed the rainbow bridge last weekend.
You left too soon, but at least you're reunited with Clover now, darling girl.

---------------------------------

The sanctuary has a date for the next show, at the end of November. I have no idea who I'm going to take.
I'd like to take the four boy pigs, but I don't trust them to behave. I can't decide which other pigs would be best to take.

I definitely want to take some rats (and will be asked to), but again, I don't know who. Definitely not the girls, they're not as tame as I'd like them to be, and are pretty skittish, so won't cope well with the noise. Phoenix would be perfect, but he's been under the weather, so i don't want to stress him (i know its a month away, but still), and lets face it, he's not pretty so probably won't come away with much.
Which leaves the boys pack. Only thing is, five is too many to take (as i am responsible for all the sanctuaries pigs, plus all the volunteers animals, plus my own), and I have no idea how they'd react to taking a couple away for the day. The only other option would be to take all five, but only enter a couple, but then there's the problem of what to take them in (something small enough to easily transport, but big enough for them to spend the day in).
Thoughts?

Hopefully will have some very good news next week. Fingers crossed.

My rats are having a terrible time at the moment. Satan had an abscess on his face and Lucifer has an ear infection and respiratory infection, he may also have had a stroke.

Lucifer is very disorientated and is stumbling and rolling around. I put a dish out for him, but he fell in it head first and had difficulty getting up. I had to grab him just incase he couldn't.
