So about my guinea pigs

Cicero always make these low growl/rumbling noises and kind of stretches his body out- which pisses Gigs off and then they start fighting? Is this normal? How long will it go on if so?

Is it a play for dominance?

Yep, it's just for dominance. The actual word for it is "rumble strutting" and they do this to express dominance, usually between males but between females too. This is usually followed by light fighting, nothing over a quick nip, and if one bleeds separate them immediately! If no fighting happens, this usually means one male has backed down, and the one who was rumble strutting will mount the other one, just like dogs do really. This can go on for months, or just meer days. 2 of the 3 of my boars still do it to this day, 1 year later, but they never fight, one just walks away XD

It's really nothing to worry over, unless it gets serious. If it does have something handy to separate them, other than your hand, because you will be bit if you do so :P

My guineas have been together for about 2 weeks now and still rumble strut all over the place, pretty funny tp watch them but both seem to get along and on ly strut if they run into each other. Though, don't worry since my boys live in a 2x5 c&c cage. Which is pretty much over 5ft long; so they have plenty of room to keep apart.

I have two ratties out of a few others that I got from a breeder today that have no name. I need to think of things, but maybe someone could help give ideas? Both are girls. One is a Cinnamon Pearl and the other is a Himalayan. I have no pictures right now, but maybe tomorrow I'll post some. ^-^ Hopefully I can think of a name by then. lol
