It was logbooks xD In the end the hammie one didn't get handed in, as they tutor chose two out of the six, but it still had to be handed in on paper, so who knows if he read it xD It was mostly general care, and you are a goldmine!
He was so surprised in the practical when he asked if anyone knew the minimum space requirement of a Syrian and it was out of my mouth like a bullet xD
he didn't accept that syrians are actually crepuscular and only nocturnal in captivity though
and all the wheels are too small but no one listens ugh

pls show me, I beg you komi
I need hammie sausages in my life

Ooooh, nice! :) That's kinda ick about the crepuscular/wheel size things. I think 8'' are usually okay but mammoths like Arya won't ever fit in one nicely. It's been a long time since Arya's had an 8'' wheel.

Tell me about it! They've all got P@H smallest wheels, so they're like, 4". Orion fits in an 8", as does Honey, and Hercules is only a tiny baby so he's got so much room xD Gotta give him some egg tomorrow too.

    AHHHH THAT'S SO CUTE AHHHHH

I would love to own rodents. Degu in particular, but there is only one space they could go in my house right now...and it's right near the reptiles which I would like to avoid.
Having serious issues viewing dark colours at the moment. May delay replys to pms. Sorry.

The Leopard Pups
Grey, Black and White. The world revolves and we go with it. Twisting in this everlasting monotony, eyes of green and gold, watching and waiting for our chance, our time. Cytor, Liliana, Serenade, Bayonet, the Prankster, the sweet one, the mother and the lost soul. There birth was a lost event, one in a million, two wandering souls met in the shadows, and these four were created. There pups are the stuff of legend, one lost there sight, one lost there path, one lost there love and the other? The other lost his family, everyone they cared about. He lost his family.

Hekomi wrote:I think the price point + steep shipping means not many people know about it. Seriously, it's awesome. I'm in Canada, and I think it's $19 for the wheel and then $21 for shipping... which makes me cringe. I have four of them, and honestly, it IS money well spent and I love them. Especially since they're large and can fit in even shorter cages because they're not excessively tall on the lowest setting.

My partner wants to figure out how to make our own to avoid the shipping costs. I imagine you could find a smaller bucket too, and do that.

Honestly I would make my own but I'm pretty bad at any DIY and I would feel bad asking anyone to help me, and that's forgetting the fact my mum was struggling to accurately measure my desk today. >_< I'd probably rather buy one knowing my money won't be wasted on a failed attempt.
I actually sealed a deal on an aquarium after moaning about it lol, so I really need to decide on a wheel as soon as possible. :\

I have a question for anyone who's had any sort of experience with introducing groups of rat kits together 0w0

Because my friend is no longer breeding and there aren't any viable registered rat breeders local that I can reach, I have my eye on a nearby garden centre that stocks locally bred babies (blue and black dumbos especially) and an independent pet shop that occasionally breeds their own very lovely roans.

Since I'm looking to get 3 - 5 babies I was considering on getting two from the garden centre and two from the pet shop, depending on the circustamces. The cage I have is an aventura so I may be able to split the levels and keep the rats separate on a temporary basis whilst I try to introduce them. I'd also likely be getting one of the pairs (or trio, again depending on the situation!) first and then waiting a week or two before bringing the others home.

My question is, how easy would it probably be to introduce two pairs of babies from separate litters? From what I've read adults are easy to introduce to babies but I've not found anything about baby-to-baby intros. Having not matured yet I can't imagine there would be too much of a problem between youngsters... I always thought that the kit's motto was 'the more the merrier!' XD
Any ideas?

ugh, your hamsters are adorable and almost make me want a couple!! i think i've pretty well got my hands full with my boys, although there's this adorable all black gerbil at petsmart that's been there for a couple months now. ;nn;

my sweet boys turn 6 this month and it's just so hard to believe! they were 4 months old when i got them and the change from then to now is incredible. they're much more sociable, especially peanut. my dad absolutely fawns over him. rocky was incredibly nervous and withdrawn when i brought him home at first but now he grooms me and follows me around and shamelessly takes my food. :v

does anyone have any good suggestions for rat treats? or maybe even recipes? i'm super wary of rat treats because i'm a first time rat mama and i don't know yet what's good for my boys. i avoid citrus and other dangerous things but outside of that i'm not entirely sure what to give them! they like to take bits of my food when i eat though i'm pretty careful about what they get, and they love yogurt drops and dried fruit. i've also gotten them a couple snak shacks and they're definitely a favorite.

i guess to sum it up i'd love some recipes/suggestions for rat treats! i really want to make something special for them.
also, sorry if this reads oddly. i'm very tired.

Still haven't told y'all about the show have I? It was a ton of fun! A bit unorganized but that's to be expected since it's the first show. My only problem was they didn't start the classes for ages and I had to leave. Luckily they let me and the other contestant for costume contest go ahead and compete right before I had to leave!

Jones won 1st place! He got a amazing ribbon and looked beyond adorable! His competitor was a adorable little guy named Barkley who was dressed as a hamburger and fries lol. Hopefully the next show has more rats that come to be dressed up lol

We also picked up my 4 new mice! I finally nailed down what I want to name them today. Their names are from the same series as my cat Jezebel who was recently killed so it's also honoring her.

Then here is Jones with his ribbon and costume after we got home, and one of him trying his hat on while we were sitting around waiting.
