i haven't posted here in forever, but i think i really need some help

rhys got over his health scare, and was doing really really great until a few hours ago.
i put him away last night and fed him like i always do, and when i got up to let him out, he was just standing there, staring at me.
so i went to pick him up and let him on the floor, and he flipped out. struggled out of my hand and darted underneath the bed.

i have no clue why, i was the only one in the room last night, and nothing happened to my knowledge that should have done that to him.
so i went to make him a little bit of egg, figured a peace offering might calm him down. he walked over to me and let me pick him up, but as soon as i tried putting him back in his cage, he freaked out again and ran back under the bed.

i cleaned out his cage completely, like scrubbed down and i tried to kill the smell as best i could, thinking maybe that would fix the problem?

he's never been this skittish, it's just not him. he's friendly and outgoing, and i honestly have no idea why he's doing this.
does anyone have any idea why he's so anxious, or how i can try to calm him down

Pretty boy! That little head spot is adorable!
Have you got a name ye?
Also, can I just like, steal your snakebites? God, how I would love snakebites.

@ Keriae

ORION!
You don't post enough pictures of her XD

On the subject of nesting material, check out this stuff! Bedding & nesting stuff in one!
Been using it for a couple of weeks now, it's awesome! Nanook especially loves it, his nest is absolutely huge XD Also, super easy to spot clean pee corners, 'coz it swells up & turns yellow.

I don't take pictures because she doesn't stay still and the camera on my phone is awful quality xD I am hoping to get a camera for my birthday though (for my trip to Africa) so then I should take more xD

That looks really good! I might have to go up at some point next week :3 Orion's super clean though, I normally only have to do a spot clean.

Lol, I know that feeling XD
I just got a new camera with anti-shake (or Steady Shot, as Sony calls it), which has been a friggin life-saver! So I'll hopefully be able to get decent pics of my hams now XD

It looks pretty too!
This was just after it'd been cleaned, so he hadn't had chance to untwist any of it yet. I'll have to get a picture of Nook's nest, so you can see all the unraveled bits XD

And before anyone comments on the cage-size, this is my elderly dwarf's cage, who has limited mobility. Trust me, he does not need more space.

It's completely dust free, really soft and feels super nice, and apparently helps with odour control. Not having a fully functioning sense of smell, I can't comment on the latter XD
Really is a great bedding!

I just cannot catch a break. The past two days Luna has lost weight drastically and today she woke up with her eye bulging out. It's gotten worse throughout the day and she can't close it and it's dry. She's walking all leaned to that side and is very sluggish. She got a dose of infant ibuprofen and eye drops. In gonna move her into a separate QT cage and she will go to the emergency vet in the morning.

I was going to start intros tomorrow, but now I must wait to see what this is. Everyone else is fine.

Kovu and Fray have been taking Indie's loss very hard. Fray just lays in Indie's old spot and Kovu is just so sad. Yesterday Fray seemed to perk up though, which is good.

Dusky came with me and my boyfriend to get frozen yogurt today. Everyone loved him!

So i need help with a mystery...

My two gerbils were fine this morning when i got home from a friends... since then i napped several times, babysat my sisters and then took a shower. Immediately after my shower, i came downstairs and the healthier of the two gerbils was dead (They are brothers and were bought together over 2 years ago... I think closer to 3 or 4). They were both snuggled up like they were sleeping so i didn't notice it until i did my routinely counts of fish and stares at my rodents to check if they are all breathing.

So i prepared a box and put some bedding in the box and then the dead gerbil due to be buried tomorrow, but upon picking him up, I noticed that most of his foot was gone. I then had to run to the bathroom to throw up.

How was almost half of his foot missing in less than a day (as if flesh stripped from the bone as well as muscle and some of the bone.)
