Oh my gosh guys! Stop attacking one person who's posting-which is called bullying-which is what you're doing. Even if they may be implying that their dogs are better then you need to lay off. If they're saying that it doesn't give you the right to attack them. Nobody's perfect and I definitely am not and I've had my fair share of tense times on here but I still come back the next day with a new outlook-why can't you???

HOW do the dogs look horrible at all?

Short, stocky, poorly bred dogs. Big heads on stubby legs. Not at all good looking Akitas, even for Americans.

They don't have to be perfect...
If you were to show your dog in a show ring then yes, dogs should meet the breed standards 100%.
But they don't.. They don't HAVE to meet breed standards perfectly, it doesn't make it horrible. There isn't anything wrong with Wolfgang, he's a beautiful dog.

It's not anything to get your socks in a knot over, what's done is done.

Fuzzy promotes Wolfgang's breeder as a "good breeder". That means that they should fit breed standard, as that is something a good breeder does. Reputable breeders breed dogs to standard. They health test and title. They are knowledgeable about the breed in question.

I understand that you don't particularly think that good breeders are a necessity, however if you promote your dog as being from a good breeder, it should probably be true. I've covered the lack of testing and titles before, but I don't know much about the Akita standard. MalfoyQueen and now Link have both spoken up saying that the dogs are not true to standard. That would mean that his breeder... is perhaps not so great afterall.



EDIT: The reason this keeps getting drug back up is because there are now at least four people who are actively avoiding this thread due to the attitudes of "I'm right and I don't care what you say" in here. Yelling for the arguing to stop is not going to do anything except put a bandaid over the problem and wait for tensions to explode again.

I do agree we should move on, I do. I've said several times we should (and then I manage to get myself thrown back in. Ah.) anywho, I would like to just make one more post, one more so hopefully you guys can try to understand our point of view.
I'm coming out quite what has been being said behind closed doors.

For example, me and Fuzzy are both arguing with you guys. First, it (most of the time) is a matter of opinion; there is no right or wrong, and if you think there is... You need to lighten up. Because honestly, there is always wrong in everything you will find, and there is always right in whatever you will find. That's just humanity. There can not be a right or wrong.
From our point of view, it looks to us as though you are trying to get us to believe in your ways, which we don't want to and that needs to be respected. You can disagree with us, but you can also acknowledge that we aren't entirely wrong, we aren't horrible people.

Another view point from us, is you don't seem to be understanding the real context of what we are trying to say (or at least what I'm trying to say).
We've tried explaining over and over that we DO agree with most of what you are saying, we are fighting for someone else, but you ignore that, or at least you don't acknowledge it in your posts.
For example, I was discussing with my boyfriend about the kill shelters, and he tried disagreeing with me, saying that they are needed, which I then proceeded to tell him I VERY WELL KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THAT and that has nothing to do with what I am arguing. What my argument is, is that it is wrong to kill an animal and it's innocent life, it didn't ask to be put out on the streets, it wasn't born just to die. THAT is my argument, that it is wrong.
Please try to understand that.

Now, this is going to be on a little big of the more... Targeting approach of things, but there isn't any way else to put it.
People have been PMing me and Fuzzy (I won't say who) and telling us they agree with whatever it is we are saying, but they don't want to say anything because they are too scared of being pushed around by the older members of this tag.

We get it, you're dog experts. We do agree with what you say most of the time, and you have great advice. But you need to understand we are entitled to our own opinions, you cannot change the past, we aren't ever implying things, our dogs are doing just fine without all the tests and papers and whatnot, let's leave it at that.

Who CARES where people got their dogs from? In the end, they are all just the same species, the same dog. No more breed discrimination, no more "my dog is better than yours because they were health tested and from a good breeder" no more "my dog is better than yours because they aren't aggressive" no more. No. More.

but I have to say something.
I agree with Jazi. If Wolfgang's
breeder was a 'good' breeder,
he would at least have the
confirmation of a show
quality Akita. Not to say
he isn't unique, and an
absolute joy to own, I'm
sure, but you can't say he's
from a good breeder, if the
breeder he came from is un-
interested in preserving the
Akita's true confirmation.

Not to say that I know anything
about breeder dogs. All my dogs
are 100% mutts or from BYB {Rescued
from being thrown in a shelter}. I
literally know nothing about
dog shows, or the 'breed standard'.

If Wolfgang's breeder's dogs were "horrible looking" then how could they be champion dogs? Optimus is only just over 1 year and already champion titled. He has only even been in the show ring a hand full of times, not even close to as many times as other dgs have to be in the to get titled. Or, are the judges just wrong and don't know what Akitas are supposed to look like? A dog who doesn't look how it should will not win anything in the show ring. It's as simple as that. Why in the world would they be titled champions if they had horrible conformation? By the people you have been defending who are "experts" and "know what they're talking about"?
I've seen the dogs in person and they do not have short legs etc. they do have big heads, which runs in the Regalia line that quite a few of his dogs are from, including Wolfgang. Male American Akitas have big heads.

And thanks for standing up for me WolfGirl and MaybeItsMaybellene :3 I wasn't even trying to imply that anyone's dogs are better or worse though.

You guys act like you know sooo much more about dogs than me. Really, you don't. Just because I don't label dogs with aggression does not mean I don't know what I'm doing. My dogs can show for that.

Sigh. I have NEVER called myself an expert. In fact, when people call me one, I tell them that I'm not. Nor do I ever say that any dog is "lesser", merely that they're not from great breeders and if people are claiming them to be from great breeders, they should stop. Sorry, but it seems that whenever one of you guys says something and I disagree, you don't stop pushing and pushing until you say some VERY offensive things, and then you refuse to own up for them when several people call you out on it.

I have NEVER ever ever said that Wolfgang (or any other dog on this forum) was a "bad dog". I've complimented Fuzzy for taking him to classes and working with him so much. I do, sincerely, hope that he does not develop SSA as he grows, and I've said that lord knows how many times by now. I've never said that he was "lesser" or "inferior", I've never said that I hate akitas or thinks he deserves his reputation. I don't think his breeder is great. Apparently that is an opinion shared by several others. I did go digging around a bit and yes I did notice that Regalia dogs do look similar to Wolfgang and those dogs are also not exactly fully health tested or titled either- in fact many of the Regalia dogs I found only had one parent if that or perhaps a sibling on OFA. Not exactly good breeding practices.

As far as champions...


Sorry but this big earred, roman nosed, weak hock'd, slanted topline, barrel-chested, overangulated dog is a champion, and not at all to GSD breed standard.

And there are still at least the dogs I mentioned before for Full Moon that have NOT finished their championships but were still bred. They are also lacking health testing.

These are some American Akita breeders I was able to locate that not only have all of their breeding dogs as finished champions, but also have gone above and beyond with health testing and are findable on OFA's database (something Full Moon claims, even though I cannot find them even through a look of every single Akita entered into that database in the US):
