Dog Owner Chat! (for-fun poll added) (new chat)

I own BSL breed(s) and actually feel relief when folks pull their kids away or cross the street. >_>; I PURPOSEFULLY avoid people on walks and cross the street before they get a chance because its just.. polite of me to do. Who am I to force my dogs on other people? My dogs don't /need/ to meet and greet other people and dogs, a distance is aokay for us.

I tried 'shrieking' when my Lola was a pup.
She just about torn my hand off
with excitement. Yeah, I didn't
do that again ^^;

The time out scenario seemed
to work. She loves human
interaction, so if I stood
up and walked away when she
nipped, she wouldn't nip! <3

Haha Wolfgang did the same thing when I tried the yelping thing xD I guess it de it more fun to him because it was like a squeaky toy lol. I would growl and he would stop and then I would walk away. It worked really fast.

@Lupen. I never said you guys were wrong so stop putting words in my mouth. Your opinions offend me, but do you keep them to yourselves? No, so neither do I. Just because one person openly says on here they agree, doesn't mean more don't and just don't want to be bashed for saying so. I never even said my dogs were perfect, but if what I am doing is working, why would I change it to something that is not working?

@Cardinal, I don't do that because my dogs love to meet people. That's not really a problem though, because everyone I've met (other than that one person with the kids) see Wolfgang and come running up to see him because he looks like a "giant walking teddy bear" as I am told by many lol xD There was one person who didn't want her kid to see him because she thought he was a Chow and told her kid "Chows are mean" but I just explained to her that no he wasn't a Chow and he was not aggressive and they happily pet him and learned something that day about assumptions.

I'll just say this; it's pretty clear what that implies. Sense our dogs aren't perfect, because our dogs have dog aggression or same sex aggression or fear aggression etc. we're not right. Maybe you didn't mean it to come across that way, but it did. I am not putting words in your mouth.

I'm just saying that I must be doing something right, I cannot be all wrong and it shows in my dogs.
I'm nt saying m digs are perfect or flawless or better than everyone, I'm just stating facts and that fact being that they aren't aggressive. Marty's still stupid and obnoxious like he has been since I got him, but at least he is not aggressive.

Me too x3 I was reading about mosaic Labs a long time ago. They're super rare though. This mutation is caused by a division of cells. I think some people think its extremely weird because some people think yellow Labs come from yellow Labs and black Labs come from black Labs etc as if they're different breeds lol. I told my friend Labs can have all colors of pups in one litter and she was shocked. I have no idea where people got that idea lol, other breeds have different colored pups lol.

I know! It's funny when people learn about that, they get all confused.
I had a step dad and he thought that golden retrievers didn't exist and piper was a golden lab
I don't know what was going through his head but like, what do you think the golden part stands for in golden lab? Lol.
He also thought my neighbours golden was an Irish setter because he's darker red, once again set on believing golden retrievers don't exist.
I have no idea how he can live with thinking they don't exist, especially when they are one of the most popular breeds!
