Cute, cute!
Love the name <3

Where'd you
get her?

Slightly off topic;

Could some of you venture
over to my topic, and take
a gander at my two new rescues?
I'm at a loss for what breeds they are.

A lady was giving away free 6ish week od puppies in a parkinglot. Another lady came by and took two of them. One she gave to a co-worker and the other she tried to pass around her apartment complex with no luck. I got a call at midnight to come get a puppy. Went out there and the lady had decided to keep her. Tried to educate her about diet and everything. Went home with a heavy heart. Got a call the next morning from the lady who said the puppy cried, poop'd, and pee'd all over her apartment all night. I brought Juniper home on Christmas eve and she never left. ;) Funnily enough she didn't cry at all that night, she slept curlled around my head.
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe

Ahh, a parking lot puppy <3
Good thing you got her,
you never know where
parking lot puppies might
end up!

That's too funny,
what did the lady expect?
It's a puppy!

Lola's first car ride home
from the Shelter, she;

Pee'd
Poop'd
and
Puked

all in a 45 minute car
ride. Poor baby was very
anxious, but brightened
up very quickly once she
saw we had other dogs <3

Yeeaahhh. Juniper would be an absolute nightmare in the wrong hands (I try to teasingly give her away all the time because she's a nightmare in general~).

I know, right? Its a puppy! They don't come programmed. xD Would be mighty nice if they did~

Yeah. I honestly think Lola
would eventually get
put down, if I ever
like died or something.

She is so exuberant,
and she needs to run
for 2 hours a day or
else she is bouncing
off the walls.

I must say, that would be an adorable dog.

I have a question for all you
genetic junkies <3

If you could breed any two dogs,
without the consequence of breeding
two incompatible colours, what two
dogs would you choose?

{example;
breeding two merles
together, without having
to worry about producing
double merle pups}

Mm, two black and tan performance Doberman. Yum~

@Above: Its highly unlike you're end up with spotted dogs. ;) American Eskimo are genetically red dogs with a modifier dilution type gene making them white or cream. Dalmatians are extreme white with ticking. The spotting is caused by a recessive modifier gene. Dalamtion spots are unique to the breed, Dal mixes are ticked, not spotted because of this (deafness is alos linked to Dal genes). Coat wise you'd probably end up with red or black ticked dogs. xD

Aren't genetics awesome?

It was hard enough trying to find a completely white dog as it was, now I find out they aren't even white .-.
Oh look, there goes my whole plan, out the window. Goodbye!

And yeah, the deafness is what I was referring too as the Dalmatians being a "typically harder breed to breed"
One day there shall be fluffy spotted dogs. This whole era is not this day.

http://www.doggenetics.co.uk/ for anyone interested in dog coat color genetics. I found this extremely informative and helpful.

I need major help.

My 4, 5-ish year old pomeranian is having major issues with scratching himself. We put a jacket on him, but he managed to get it off, and now his back is raw and bloody from being scratched. We've had this problem with him for a while, but it's really bad right now. The doctor thinks he has allergies, but they "aren't sure what he's allergic of, probably grains". I honestly don't want to trust this doctor, he says that my pom is allergic to grains yet the first ingredient of the food he prescribed was rice. We tried medications, different food changes, spray-ons, but it doesn't seem to work. We have him on a lamb food type right now, one that supposedly is good for dogs with allergic problems. Right now, I'm applying an antibiotic to his wounds - they're really bad, they're actually staining his bed... We're giving him antibiotic tablets (orally taken) as well.

What am I supposed to do for now? Does anybody know any solutions to this self-mutilation issue?

My mother's Greyhound/Mountain Cur mix
has an allergy to grains, but
does just fine with;

Rice
Quinoa
Millet

She's also allergic to Poultry and Beef, so we
make due with fish. <3

Look at this Sable Shiba Inu!
