Okay, I admit I was really grumpy this morning and it's my fault this started. I still feel as if this needed to be addressed though and I also feel that it calmed down a lot after the first few posts.

@Reno Sinclair: Once at a sleepover, someone's dog knocked my glasses off a desk and chewed them. I can't see without my glasses. D:<

Honestly, probably the thing that's even more frustrating then being told your dog is bad or that your bad owner is when PEOPLE DON'T LISTEN TO YOU. If I tell you my dog bites, that means she WILL bite you and you shouldn't come near. If I pull my dog away to avoid the path of your dog, that probably means my dog doesn't like other dogs. You and your dog are not some special cookies my dog will take exception to and excuse me if I don't want my dog getting a bite record, being declared as 'dangerous' or being PTS because your dumb butt can't listen or use common sense.

It doesn't seem that Fuzzy is upset with this debate, but let's make sure no-one get's left out c:

It may be a debate, but it's still more like an argument, if you see it the way i do, believe me.

I know but I don't want a relapse of what happened last time so I'm trying to keep the peace. If I were in your position (which I was at one point), honestly, i'd just stay out of it. The regulars on this thread don't back down easily and it'll blow over soon xD

@Saracirce;
Oh no, your glasses!? That's a lot worse than us losing our precious
earphones. I..just don't understand why dogs find glasses so
intriguing. Dixie and Tobi will literally climb up on my fiance's
chest and casually try to chew at them while they are on her
face.

I also reaaaally agree with it being frustrating when people
refuse to listen to you about your dog's behavior. Dixie is
a drop off, who we've only had for about a week. She is
either afraid of men or is generally over protective of
us because she growls every time my father-in-law comes
near. I've told him to warn us, so we can put the gate up
in our room..but it's like it goes in one ear and out the
other? ACTUALLY. What seriously pisses me off is the
fact that he's reached down and popped her in the face
for growling at him.

Do you own a dog?: Yush, I own three
Favorite dog breed?: Siberian Husky by far <3
Tell us about your dog(s), if you have any!: My three dogs are called Spirit, Blade and Elsa. Spirit is a a two-year old grey and white Siberian Husky. She's quite small, and skinny, she's very excitable and loves to play, but she's a good dog and was easy to train. She's three in May. Blade is a not quite one yet, he'll be one in April, and he's very protective of Spirit. He's a brown and white, with a little grey, Siberian Husky and he's still a baby so he's still quite playful. He loves to sleep on my bed, though, and he's definitely a howler. Elsa is my guard dog. She lives with my dad, because she's not good with other dogs, but I still take care of her and take her on daily walks. She's a black and tan German Shepherd (mainly black) and we got her to be a guard dog. Neither of our Huskies were real guard dogs, they're both friendly apart from the odd howl from Blade. I had my XBox and Playstation, along with quite a bit of jewelry (worth over £800 in total) stolen from my dad's place while he was at work, so we needed a good dog to guard the property. She turned three last November. She's a great dog, loves to play, and is super good with people in the house, but she wont let anyone in. We got her as a rescue, from a guy who lives near us because he couldn't take care of her, and the friend she was staying with was abusing her. We have been told that her parents were police dogs, but we didn't take her papers because we don't need them. Spirit and Blade were both kind of rescues, too. I got Spirit when she was 5 months old, she came from a little of 15 and she has never seen grass before we got her. We payed a hefty sum for her, because the person that bred her was going to take her in to the woods and put her down herself (because she didn't want the trouble of another dog, and no one wanted her), so we coughed up just over £500 for her. Blade was given to us my a friend of my moms because they were moving, and couldn't care for him.
Pictures of your dog(s): They're too big to post directly. I'll post the links.

I can't find any more at the minute, but I've got two group pics I'm gonna upload. One's got Spizz and Blade, the other's got Spizz and Elsa.

I don't know. Maybe it's because of the smell? Cause, Idk about you, but Lolita used to have a thing about licking ears.

I think I vaguely remember you asking for help with that but idk if anyone replied? What are you doing to work with her on that? I think I could dig up some resources for you.

I could 'handle' it, but it isn't my business to go meddling in. No one is upset or annoyed, it seems, except yourself, and right now I think it has blown over. Some people just have a lot to say and it is very hard to say it with a calm, soft voice online if all you have are a few keys, if you know what I mean?

It really bothers me that people on this site tend to think that any sort of disagreement must be an argument or someone "being mean" or "shouting" (especially when people are not being rude or screaming in all caps or anything...) and thus people should yell at them and tell them to stop. Not everyone agrees with everything in the world.

I can safely say that it is not my intention to chase anyone away. However if I see something that I disagree with, I'll say something about it. I have NOT been name calling, overly sarcastic, or blatantly rude as many who disagree with my opinions or facts have. I have not resorted to trolling. I provide sources and a wide range of well worded explanations. If someone still disagrees with me after that then they can- I cannot force anyone to change their mind, but I'm still going to voice my dissent when I see it. Apparently I am not the only one who sees a problem with certain topics discussed here, or at least the way they're discussed here.

It really bothers me when we get to talking about stuff like this and I'm accused of chasing people away. I don't think people realize how many folks who agree with what I'm saying have been chased away themselves, by their attitudes about things.

Look, I'm a bit impulsive sometimes. But I prefer to not have any arguments going on and then try to talk around them. A lot of people do.

Yes, ears! Eyes too. They absolutely love sniffing our eyes.
Whenever she first starts growling, I say her name loudly
enough to get her attention...but gently so I won't startle
her. Once her attention is away from him I start talking
to her and petting her in all of her favorite spots. I also
offer her a treat. I'm not so sure if I am doing things
right, because honestly, I've never worked with a dog
who responds to people within their own home like that.
And while it does fix the problem temporarily, it
doesn't seem to be happening any less..
