It's not actually that hard! I know several people in the Dog training and agility community I'm in who have had their dogs in movies, commercials, tv shows, ect. Heck, my old neighbours we had used to breed golden retrievers and own 3 of the dogs who played "Air Bud" in the original movies, as well as two of the "puppies" from the movie. C: We live in a town where a TON of stuff comes to film, so it's real easy to get your pets into show business provided they are trained!
I know two of the dogs in the movie "Marley and Me: the Puppy Years" as well, not to mention I clicker trained my cat and taught her to go to markers and she got call backs for an upcoming TV show C; ((She is guaranteed the part unless she is two skittish to perform in front of the cameras.))
