I wish so badly that Koda and Rylee weren't neutered so early. Both were done around two to three months old but seeing as they were rescues, I had no say. I would have at least waited a year and a half if not more.

I know the issues that it would cause but every time we've gone to the vet she's said we need to think about getting her spayed before her first heat as it's best for her. It's just made me question whether it would be best for her if a vet has mentioned it a few times. I guess in this case it is true that some vets are just after the money.
Thank you for all of your replies. I'm very greatful! ^^

@Morgana: I don't it's that they are "out for the money" but more out of a lack of education (Not exactly the word I want) about the subject. it has been taught that before the first heat is better, but that information is out of date and we now know the benefits of later spaying/neutering, however I don't think that they teach that in classroom yet.

Sophie's was done at 6 months, her old owner included it in the cost of her, but I was 8 at the time so I didn't really know any better. If I could go back in time with the knowledge I have now, I would chance so much stuff that I did. More socialization, better food, not spayed so early, better training methods (I was always positive, but I didn't always teach in the clearest of ways lol), and last but not least I wish I didn't use an invisible fence. Her pray drive is so high is she saw a deer or birds she would ignore the shock and go right through.

Personally I'd change vets.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enPCZA1WFKY Its an awesome video by a vet on why its not a good idea. =) Its a bit long but very very informative and easy to follow. =)

Thank you both!

I'd say she was in her early 30's but I'm not sure what vets get taught as I'm not studying it. I think her heart is in the right place but it's still not nice to be kind of pressured into something such as that.

She has a check up again in a few weeks. If she mentions it again then I might consider swapping vets if I can or ask her why she thinks so and get a better answer. My older dog has a different vet so I'm not sure why they aren't down under the same person.

I'll check out both of the links you gave two gave me when it's not time for me to call it a night.^^ Again, thank you so much for all of your replies. It's great to know this little club here is so helpful and kind!

So, today was the first day I babysat and just, ugh. Those poor dogs. When I first arrived, Dixie and Libby were playing but started to get too rough so both me and the mom told them to knock it off. Libby sassed by howling so the mom stood over the dog so she was was between her legs, lifted her front feet off the ground, held her muzzle shut and put her head close to hers and scolded her like that. I just... I didn't know what to do or say so I just didn't do anything xp

And then later on, I gave the kid some food and he sits at this tiny little plastic table to eat. Libby was mugging him horribly so that I had to keep getting up and pushing her away from him (she wouldn't listen when told to back off). And just... you could tell they hit those dogs cause if I pushed her in a certain way she'd cower until I stopped touching her.

EDIT: Well, I just offered to help them by walking the dogs and doing some training and they accepted. So yay~

The shelter spayed Misty when she was 10 months old, we neutered Marty when he was 9-10 months old, and I spayed Kiba when she was 11 months old. I plan on waiting to neuter Wolf until he is close to 2 years old.

Hunter is at the vet being neutered right now. I know six months is crazy early but we've already broken the four month law that is in my area and this was the longest we could wait without people noticing. I've already gotten the call saying the surgery is done and that he's woken up so I'll be picking him up in a half hour.

I had a play date with my friend's dog and let me tell you this dog is out of control, I don't want to be mean to my friend but her dog Buster was really bad. I love all dogs and want to help my friend, so Buster is a Collie who jumps on people, sometimes bites, and growls at other dogs like Bear and I know sometimes dogs don't want other dogs in their 'territory', but still Buster needs to learn how to be have and I tryed to tell my friend but so far she won't listen and tell me that 'he will learn' but he won't if they don't do something, and he is 3 years old. Does anyone know a good video or page that's good about dog behave thing so I can show my friend? Thank you so much

On a brighter note we did take Bear to a groomers yesterday and they did a pretty good job at it, and Bear didn't even move he just stayed there like a good boy c:
