I haven't been on that PetFinder site yet, but I checked out the local Dog Trust, and...
LOOK WHAT I FOUND.
These ears are the most adorable thing ever. I absolutely adore black masks on dogs, and he looks so much like my pup, only different ears and a different coat. I saw him and I was all like "muuuuuum pleasase :O"

I can never go on Pet Finder just to look because I always find an amazing dog (Or other animal) That I would kill to have, and it makes me sad when I'm not able to get them.

Some progress with Dixie and Sherlock today! My dad helped me out while I was working with Sherlock and Dixie today. I had my dad hold Sherlock on a leash just outside of Dixie's "threshold distance" while I held Dixie on a leash. I fed Dixie treats as fast as I could everytime Sherlock was in her sight and my dad did the same with Sherlock. When we moved them out of each other's sight, the treats stopped coming. Just today, we were able to get them 4 ft apart with no negative reactions from Dixie. She even wandered over to him, looking for his treats when we were finishing up. I don't know how long it will last but it was encouraging to see.

She seems to see mine and my sister's room (we share one and that's where Dixie usually is with me) as her den or special place. She's definitely a lot more touchy about one of the dogs passing the bedroom or especially if one sneaks in.

Btw, thanks for the articles! I read them all last night and did a bit more searching. Found some interesting stuff on WholeDogJournal. Particularly an article by Pat Miller.

Is there anything - besides what I'm currently doing - to fix this? Or should I just continue what I'm doing and give it time?

@Evergreen: We actually have an aussie rescue here and you wouldn't BELIEVE how many double merles there are.. I was astounded, it was like every other dog on the list was a double merle and have some type of issue like being blind in one/both eyes or being deaf in one/both ears.. etc. Sickening.

But.. I HATE THIS GAME! xD! I can't wait to start fostering.

Also, the shep/grey is in a very very very high kill shelter. omg, I wish I could snatch him, if only to rehome him and be sure he found a home.. : Dies:

So sad It's insane how many people don't know that you can't cross two merles. My office manager is a chihuahua "breeder" and i had to explain this to her(she was planning on breeding blue merles ugggghhh). I would love to rescue a double Merle (of any herding breed) I think I could deal with a deaf dog, blindness however would be challenging I think.

That shep/grey is sooo cute, love the long legs. I hope he finds a home.

I've mostly been just stalking this thread since the last time I posted, but this game is one of my favorites!
Mongo, the German Shep mix. Ahh what a cutie <3 He'd be perfect for us! He's got all the basic obedience training, is good on a leash and in the car, crate and house trained, great with kids, and is only 20 minutes away from here! *squeals*
Honey, the Hound/Lab mix. Just look at that adorable faaaace! She wouldn't fit into our house very well, but she sure is a cutiepie.
Bear, the Husky mix. Ahh I'm such a sucker for big, fluffy lap dogs, and that's just what he is! A handsome gentle giant. He's a bit too far away though :c
I need to stop before I get myself all excited for no reason lol
