Whelp, I emailed an Aussie breeder. Just asked if they have any litters or will be having any in the near future and that we were interested in potentially purchasing one. Will ask some questions if they get back to me.

First time going through this as I said a month or so ago, so I'm paranoid thinking I'm not worthy or something. xD

Also, with breeders that have a reservation fee, what happens if I find a shelter mutt or something between the time I reserve a pup, and the time it is actually born? Do most give a refund and is it looked down upon if I do ask for one?

Well, I don't usually recommend asking about litters and puppies first. Usually a good first email is basically a "I want one of your dogs here's a dog-resume".

Make sure you communicate that you're keeping your options to shelter mutts open. Personally I don't like breeders who want a deposit before the litter is born.

    Well, we're too financially unstable at this point, but I think I've definitely decided on a Shiloh Shep ♥ They are too beautiful and too closely related to one of my favorite breeds (yet with less of a temperament!) for me to pass up. I'd be grateful for links and stuff if anyone is associated with a breeder.
I am only on to trade my pets for FR currency~

Congrats on picking a breed! You have to post pictures when you get your pup.

Anyways my neighbor got a tiny chi pup for her birthday yesterday. She didn't really want the pup but she's giving her a week chance before deciding if she's gonna give her back. The pup is adorable though! She's palm sized, and so sweet. They have her on a bottle right now because she won't drink water. (She needed to be with her momma for awhile longer since she was the runt) Her name is Kenzi, I'll try to get some pics next time I see her/

Spanking any child these days is very old fashioned and frowned upon, let alone a two year old. Not to mention that spanking and PSC* collars are not the same thing and can't be compared so easily. If someone even so much as put a PSC collar on their child, not even use it just put it on, CPS would be knocking on their door ready to take the kid away.

When my daughter was 2 the worst she got was a swat on the diaper. At 3 1/2 she gets a calm, level explanation of EXACTLY when she did wrong and a swat on the backside. ;) I don't mean a butt-turns-red swat either.

I don't think you can calmly and reasonably explain to a dog EXACTLY what they did wrong and WHY they are being punished. Besides, making a tiny wrong move and being choked/shocked isn't the same thing at all as a child making a massive mistake, under going multiple warning and THEN getting a swat on the rear while it being explained why it was happening. =)

So. incredibly. tired. Got up early and have been moving ALL DAY. Spoke to a realtor aaanndd we may not be able to get that house we've been eyeballing. In two months, though, we're going to reapply and hopfully get something! /excitement The dogs (BOTH BLACK) don't deserve being outside in the summer when it soars in the 100's :/ Can't wait until they are able to be inside fully! Last summer was SUCH a struggle to keep Lucky cool and it was above 105 for a week straight. e.e So far we've already set up thier pool (even if Lucky hates water. Le sigh)

Anyways, like I said.. Set up the kiddy pool... aaannddd June lost her mind. SHE WAS SO HAPPY. xD She spent a good 10 minutes just bouncing around and splashing water everywhere. Then we had a good long fetch session making her run up and down a hill.. :lol: After every couple of fetches she'd go kick through the water again to cool off and resume the game. Was lots of fun.

Well, Norris certainly is picking things up quickly.
Even though he's not a fan, I've taught him to respond to, "Spit"
{a command his former owner was teaching him, the equivalent of drop it}
And he can easily distinguish my tone. If I say it a loud, angry tone, he knows I'm serious.
If I say it higher, {and usually squeakier} he'll wag his tail.

And I'm not sure if it's just allergies or something but he like...sneezes/snorts alot.
And it's not just when he's outside either.
We don't have any perfume/strong smelling things in our house {unless you count him after walking in the rain}
so I'm stumped on what it is.
