But, anyways. Brody eats a lot because he just runs whenever he is out... run, run, run, run. you rarely EVER see him walking. At all.

{ Them poor dogs... someone's not getting enough walkies.

{ In my town there's this old man that walks around with two very overweight labradors, and I think it's wrong... but I kind of feel bad for thinking that, because the man is really old and he still makes an effort to walk his dogs - unlike most people who don't even have an excuse. He just needs to feed them less... but they are really nice dogs. One of them likes me, I think. Whenever I walk past he stops to sniff my hand - probably because he knows I'll make a fuss of him. XP

I keep both of my dogs really thin.. >_> Urgghhh fat dogs.

Juniper is 6 months, 39lbs and eats two solid cups of kibble. twice a week she gets two eggs and twice a week she gets 1/2 cup of oatmeal. Raw scrapes and bones are thrown in when ever and where ever=) We're bout to be bumping her food up to around 3 cups since she's going through that "Omg starvation skinny awkward teenager phase" xD

Lucky is 46lbs nad 8 years old and has the exact same eating schedule, but she's a bit pudgier than Juni, but not fat. She's.. solid.

JUNIPER IS ATLEAST 2 INCHES TALLER THAN LUCKY NOW. I need to remeasure her. e.e

I feed Dixie two cups of kibble. She's 2 yrs old and, the last time she was weighed, she was about 60 lbs.

Large image, sorry. This was a couple days before the final decision. Even though I can talk about him now, it still hurts to look at pictures and I don't have the courage to try and sit through any of the videos.

But as you can see, his last two ribs were visible and he was starting to build muscle all over, but particularly on his thighs/butt. If I had the time or the warmth (middle of winter with dog intolerant to cold = booooooo), the progress with his body would have gone faster, but that's still pretty decent condition compared to the majority of pet dogs I see. He's barking in this because he wanted to walk and not have me take pictures. 30in/95# oversized dummy, eating 4 cups of food plus a whole raw egg every day (he wouldn't break them himself so I had to for him) and if the snakes rejected a feeding he got that too as a treat.

Those poor dogs. Not only are they very fat, they've also got some really poor conformation and seem rather unsound. All that extra weight can't be good on their already bad joints.

{ Yeah, poor dogs. I always made sure to keep Reggie the perfect weight. It's sad, because people overfeed Rottweilers to make them look more bulky and intimidating... really they just look sad and mistreated. One time, due to some personal problems, Reggie had to stay with some of my evil family members and they didn't walk him so he got slightly overweight while he was there. I was furious. With lots of extra walkies he was back in shape though.

I need to weigh rylee .. Hard to see anything under all of her fur but I believe she's at a healthy weight for her size.. Last vet visit she was a few pounds overweight (by few I mean four or five), but she's since been on a better diet and has been walked more.. Everyday pretty much.

Sadly my other dog who'll be nine in September is very overweight. Technically he's my mothers.. But anyways, he gets everything rylee gets, but he has a thyroid problem, which, even with medication, makes it harder to loose weight due to the slow metabolism .. Not to mention due to age alone he's less active. Unlike rylee who keeps going after our walks, Lucky falls asleep instantly.. They rarely get treats, aside from some freeze dried livers, and as said before are fed a high quality kibble. Only a cup and a half currently.. They also get the occasional salmon oil pill, raw meaty bone or raw egg. I think he HAS lost weight since his last visit.. But still far from a heavy weight.

Not sure what to do. Walking him twice a day does nothing, feeding him a good food at a good amount doesn't do anything. He doesn't like playing too much.. Oi vey.

Try reducing the amount of kibble while adding green beans to his diet. Gives him the bulk to make him less "hungry" without the extra calorie intake that he doesn't need. It is hard though, to keep weight off of seniors.

I just had to share this. Some of you may have already seen it. I had tears in my eyes when my mom read it. This is for all of you who have ever lost a pet. I miss you, Ladybird and Sunny...

Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:
Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick. I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.
Love, Meredith.

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it.Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope. Because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office.

A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had. Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, "To Meredith" in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it.Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, "When a Pet Dies." Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:
Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away. Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I am wherever there is love.
Love, God

Well, Juniper is feeling much better. =) This morning she was her "OMG" bouncy self and gobbled up food.. LOL. Happy puppy was happy.

Now, I come upon an issue. The bf isn't willing to wait until she's 18+ months to get ehr spayed, but I've put my foot down. The vet is also bugging the crap out of me at every visit to get her fixes. D:< no people. She aint getting fixed until after 18 months. My bf wants to do it this summer/fall, but I'm not willing to.
