Thoughts about pitbulls/pit chat!

I own a Pit Bull/Labrador Retriever Mix. Not all pit bulls are aggressive. Now, that doesn't mean that they aren't protective and strong because they definitely are! But their attitude towards people all depends on the owner. Dakota is very protective but not once has she bit someone. She growls and barks at anyone she sees if they're near our house. That doesn't mean that if we were to be outside that she would go attack them. That just means it is a stranger in her territory that she's not used to. She gets along fine with dogs about the same size as her, although she is not very fond of small dogs. Dogs that are bigger than her takes some getting used to, but she ends up getting along with them. And I think that is enough proof to say.. Pit Bulls Are Not Evil.

That video just warms my heart. You can tell the dog knows that she has to be extra gentle when playing with the kitten. The way she just lightly mouths the kitten when it wanted to play, even when the kitten was biting her face she laid still. These dogs are real vicious killers.

Something I've noticed about pits is that they're good with small animals and cats, at least in my experience. It all has to do with socialization though, still, like I had Kaya around cats and rats her entire life so she's cool with them and even tries to watch her paws around them so they don't get stepped on. My former neighbors had a pit named Arie, and he was really good around cats too, despite not having been raised around them.

Most of the pits I see at work (I work at a vet's office) are the sweetest animals on earth! they are happy. I have seen a couple aggressive ones but not many.
